People overhyped Lesnar every time he won.
Let me take you through this:
VS Herring. "OMG Brock is huge and moves fast as hell. He also lasted for 3 rounds!! He must be able to go long!" Yea but no one really considered the fact he was just sitting on top of Heerring the whole time.

VS Couture "He knocked him out! He must have great stand up!" Couture is 45 y/o shriveled man. Sorry he's prime was vs Gonzaga. He was done after that fight. Not to mention you could SEE Lesnar was exhausted after facing an old, 224lb man only because he had good wrestling. So you should be able to tell He didnt have any tank(how could he being 280lbs of muscle)

VS Mir. "He obliterated the only guy who beat him! He's unstoppable! Mir couldn't do ANYthing!", thats Mir you're talking about, same Mir who got whooped against Vera. Same Mir who's while very talented comes out with cocky and a forced cool demeanor. He'll choke everytime because he downplays the seriousness of his opponents only to appear calm and collected.

VS Carwin "Omg he survived so much punishment to come back and win it! He has GREAT chin and ALL HEART!!" All I saw in that fight was Brock getting his ass whooped and winning because the other guy punched himself exhausted.

He simply got overhyped. People took everything he did in positive light. Much like what Fedor does in positive light. Except when Fedor done it, at least, it's explainable (I.e. vs Mark Hunt, he was never in danger because Hunt has got nothing on Fedor as far as submissions).

  2. Every fighter has to deal with injuries, negotiation hold ups and unforeseen circumstances. The fact of the matter is that Lesnar isnt a particularly active fighter.

Brock was hyped up as the baddest man in the planet and potential to be one of the greatest MMA fighter.......this has all gone down the drain after yet another pathetic performance.

Face fact.....your golden boy isnt as good as hyped up. Stop being a Zuffa Zombie!!!!

  3. No every fighter looses, what made him a joke was his pathetic performance.

If this is the best of the new breed of fighters then lucky that the old breed are close to or retired already......those old guards were bad ass.

I wonder if Lesnar's recent health problems have taken something out of him.

The main thing Lesnar lost is I'd guess 10-20lbs of steriod induced muscle that he's been unable to get back in a tested enviroment.

Could have made him mentally more anxious and gun-shy and physically affected his strength and ability to take a punch. Certainly.
I understand he has had major invasive surgery.

I recall a heavyweight who fought Ali,Cleveland Williams, was never quite the same fighter, after he was shot in the stomach by a police officer.

Surprised with brock losing? No way.

Brock v Carwin got lucky. He should of been stopped and in that fight the dude just turtled up after getting hit. Brock's standup offence and defence just isnt that good.

Obvious that Fedor would kill him. His reaction to getting hit is terrible, lord knows what he'd do if Fedor landed on him.

Overrated? Nah. Just overly dependent on his size and strength. Brock's hand game is atrocious. If Brock invested in a good 1-2 and slowed down the pace of his fights? He would be an even greater force than he is.

Still Velasquez took his cookies! LMAO!

Na... Coleman had a solid double leg/single leg and very good GnP. Brock has a good top game but he's just not used to getting hit. You cant expect to walk into this sport and make waves when you've never taken punches to the face before.
Brocks inexperience is why he lost. And why he will continue to loose against the best opposition in MMA. He wouldn't stand a chance vs any of the veterans in SF.

Everyone's seen what Fedor's GnP is like and what he has done to men much much bigger than him. Remember his fight with Tim Sylvia? Thats what would have played out for Fedor Brock. Brock would stand no chance. Im glad Cain as now put the hype machine firmly to rest.

lol @ the idiots who claimed Fedor was scared to face Brock. Fedor would beat him easily.
