Absolutely not. You'd have to be incredibly naive to believe it was, a) His first time loading his wraps, and b) He didn't know. There's just no way.

I don't know whether to believe him or not. There is a chance that he's telling the truth. But to me it's very suspicious that he inflicts that much damage to opponents considering his lack of speed. Even Mosley said Cotto hit harder than Margarito, though I don't ever recall seeing any blood on any of Cotto's opponents.

Yeah, the match against Cotto seemed suspicious to me. Margarito was not really turning into his punches most times, just arm punching but Cotto was pouring half his blood out.

The way I see it, if Margarito wasn't in on Capetillo's plan to rig his handwraps, then Capetillo was banking on a very slim chance that Margs would be distracted enough not to notice it when the pads were inserted. This is too far-fetched, which can only mean that there was collusion between the two rather than simply a unilateral decision on the trainer's part.

That's an interesting point, I'll have to rewatch it. Also the point about Mosley thinking Cotto hit harder.

The way 24/7 outlined it made it seem more plausible he didn't know, but I think he did. They can't prove it and legally I suppose it's too risky to flat out ban him (how would the evidence be different for argument's sake had the fact been he did not known?) but in all likelihood he knew.

It would be interesting to test it somehow between a trainer wrapping their fighter and see if the fighter would notice.

there is a slim chance he didnt know

as an athlete i know that routine is big and repetitive and if one thing goes differently you would notice

however some ppl deal with prefight stress differently

he at that stage was a champion long career he trusts his corner man to do the right thing wrap correctly he sits back lets the guy do his job

meanwhile he is listening to his ipod maybe closing his eyes shutting out everything visualizing the fight maybe talking to somebody els in the room not looking at the wraps

anyway they wouldnt be soaking the wraps in the illegal plaster in the locker room with the commissioner there they had the wraps ready b4 hand wrapped them on how would Margo notice

This is just a possible scenario i dont know if he knew or not thats how id see it going down if he didnt know

    here's what people don't get.

Capetillo inserted an old piece of gauze, that contained the traces of plaster, hidden into Margo's knucklepads. He then took the knucklepads out of his gym bag and placed them into Margo's handwraps.

It's not like he would need to distract Margo when the pads were inserted. The pads would look like any other pad, except that inside them there would be a hidden piece of gauze that was blood stained and hardened.

At least, that's what I understood.

Exactly. The notion that Capetillo tried to deceive Rockgloves himself just to load the gloves is absurd.

    Oh yes he would......

Margarito beats down Pacquiao in the fashion he did Cintron and Cotto (fights btw where fans in this forum are adamant Margarito plastered for) then it lends credence that Margarito's uncheating hands are capable of inflicting that type of damage, and therefore it is "likely" his hands were not plastered for the Cotto and Cintron fight.

......the key here is that people of been ragging on Margarito that his past sucess and beatdowns of Cotto and Cintron stemmed from him plastering.....

Margarito's hands will be legal for Pacquiao, Roach is going to be supervising that himself.....
So if Margarito's hands does the damage to Pacquiao, how can anyone say the beatdowns of Cotto and Cintron only happened because Margarito had plaster in his wraps?????

    Explain that to me????????:think
