I actually quite liked Slappin' Joe as a boxer, but his punch technique was awful as demonstrated here.

But whatever, he made it work for him.

    I didn't have to.
Many others before me presented the exposure quite effectively and convincingly.
There is no doubt that the Great Slapping One has NEVER met and defeated any ATG in their prime. :smoke

He's the Babe Ruth of boxing. :yep

He threw 50 fluffy slaps and landed 5 feather piff-puffs. :yep
His opponent was just protecting his eyes from being scratched out by the WOLVERINE.

I don't think any of his opponents are really prepared for how awfully unorthodox his style really is. No boxer in history throws punches that badly!

When BHOP finally figured it out, he really wanted the rematch.
I'm convinced had they met again, HOP would have easily KO'ed him. :yep

Fighting Calzaghe is like an orhodox righty fighting his first south paw. Only this south paw throws the most unorthodox punches (slaps) in history and slaps them continuously.
No orthodox fighter is ever really prepared and I doubt there is a sparring partner who could throw such bad punches even when they try. :bbb

Whether YOU liked it or not, it dosent matter, because it worked and he beat all 46 other pro fighters who competed against him . Including H:DPKINS, Eubank, Lacy, Jones, Kessler, Brewer, Manfredo, Mitchell, Reid, Woodhall, Sheika, Veit, Mketchyan, Starie, Bika.

None of those guys could walk through those feather fists

His akward slapping method was probably his greatest weapon along with workrate.

But against counter punchers in Reid and Hopkins was picked apart time and time again.

That's the way I see it.

Had had old man Hopkins edging the decision. Had they met again, Hopkins would have won in a more convincing manner. He has figured out Joe's flailing style. :good

Really doesn't matter to Hopkins or history. Both have Hopkins a level above Calslappy. That's just the facts, my comic book level friend. :yep

Interesting breakdown on the poll results with 50% agreeing, meaning half of us can SEE and aren't blind, while the other half as blind as Ray Charles or have no idea of how a boxing punch should be thrown.
