:patsch:lol: If thats what you have to write to help you except the fact that Hopkins lost to Calzaghe, and that Calzaghe has a better resume, then so be it

    Read my LIPS.
    None of that really matters.
Hopkins is a living legend and an ATG who has defeated prime ATGs.
50 years from now when future fans watch a clip of Joe like the above, they'll go..WTF?!?
Unlike Joe, Hopkin's legacy is secure. :yep:good

:patsch What a joker you are.
    A question for you PRESIDENT.
    1. What Prime ATGs did Hopkins beat, because prime is also the best weight a fighter performed in?

Calzaghes legacy is secure also, WBO 21 defences, WBC WBA IBF RING SMW titles and RING LHW title. 46-0

But the cherry on the cake was Calzaghe going to America and fighting at a weight he hadnt fought with 3 American judges and beating The Ring LHW champ and P4P #3 HOPKINS :happy

Why not bump an old thread, it seems as if identical threads regarding Calzaghe pop up every couple of weeks covering the same subject, usually started by the same people....

    Of course.
Are you suggesting that Byrd's style is as ugly as Calzaghe's? :huh

This thread is really about Joe Calzaghe and his extremely awkwardness and slappy punching style, which is very likely wy he has won so many matches. No opponent can really prepare for someone so awkward and unorthodox. It's impossible to fine a sparring partner who punches so badly, yet does it so effectively.

So true!!!! I believed this when hops called out calzaghe right after the fight. Why do people say hops is in his prime still when its clear he has been on a decline since the trinidad fight! Just because he beats pavlik doesnt mean hes in his prime or that hops was in the same shape cause pavlik is much more of a KO threat then joe so hops had to be prepared for twelve or get KOED. On the other hand wit joe hops underestimated joes indurance and overestimated his power which he would have changed in the rematch. By the way Joe knew in his heart he would have lost the rematch thats why he talked so bad about hopkins to use his recial remarck as an excuse. Common sense will tell U this unless ur BIAS

Putting things into context Joe changed he punch selection and delivery when he started having hand problems. Prior to that he had one of the best ko ratios in boxing. But no doubt he started throwing wider and not sitting down on his shots after the hand issues.

Poll results are a lot closer than I would have imaged, even with Bailey using his FIVE (5) Alias'.

    After 54 voters wil have the following results;

25 : 42.37% - No Doubt,. Joe is the Ugliest
    16 : 27.12% - He's Ugly, but he has "soft" hands
    0 : 0% - Maybe. I'm a fanatic and don't wish to comment
    18 : 30.51% - No, Joe is just SPECIAL

Interesting that the "NO" group precisely reflects the percentage of American Tea Party members.

This is what the rumors state, but actually Joe's slappy stlye which makes him even more unorthodox may be his strongest asset. :fight

Straight punches? :rofl Did you actually WATCH the BHOP-Calzaghe fight?
Hopkins got hit in the back of the head more so than not because Joe consistently slaps down with his punches.
