I like the fact he wants to fight three times next year. At least, if he defends against his mandatory (hopefully not Mendy), he still has 2 other big potential fights. I could live with that way of keeping his belt.

Larouche ne se gêne d'ailleurs pas pour envoyer un crochet de gauche à Jean Pascal en dénigrant son prochain adversaire, Bernard Hopkins.

This is much worse than I thought. Bute could have fought Hopkins, Dawson and Pascal and chose to fight Miranda and Brinkley instead.

For ****'s sake!! How the **** can he pretend he cannot get good fights??

 

I can no longer be a big fan of Lucian Bute.

Bute was the reason I became interested in boxing.

He was the reason I joined this forum in March 2007. Now I have lost faith in him.

I can no longer cheer for Bute or want him to win against everyone, like before.

The Miranda fight wasn't that bad since HBO took it. And HBO doesn't want Hopkins. And at that time, Miranda was a tune-up for a Pavlik fight.

Brinckley was a mandatory. Bute doesn't want to go to LHW right now. And if you look at it in the long term, it makes some sense. If Bute moves up right now, he can fight Pascal, Dawson, Cloud. But moving up gives options for the S6 winner when it's over. And Pascal, Dawson, Cloud will still be there and in their prime next year when Bute finally moves up.

Imagine:
2011: Pavlik in March, Stieglitz in the summer, S6 winner in the fall
2012: Pascal and Cloud/Dawson

Not that bad. If Bute moves up right now, he will fight Pascal and Cloud/Dawson in 2011, but the S6 guys who go to LHW after the tourney will have other choices than Bute.

 

I bet right now that he will become a politician when he end his career!

 

I will not use your langage, but your right. I remember when Andrade 2 was in the doing both Larouche and Bédard said that they had some other offers, but Bute wanted to figth Andrade at all cost to clear things out.

 

I feel the same about Bute, I am romanian and Bute is our only World Champion, but he is letting us down by not fighting the best out there, him and INterbox are milking the belt, if in his next 2 fights doesn't step-up he will loose alot of fans. He has great skills but he has to prove this with the best.

 

Did you ever tried to put yourselves in his place?

The dude can drop to 166 - means he feels perfect at 168.
He can go at 175 later in his career... but once he adds some muscle and couple of years he might not be able to get down to 168.Everybody will call him a ducker for not dropping down.

After working years in o foreign country living alone training like hell you can possible expect not to take 1 easy fight to make some money for a better life.(Joppy)

Can you guy's actually name 1 guy from the best at 168 who wasn't in the S6 that he didn't fight?

Before satisfying the fans you have to take care at your own future make a better life for your family.That's why he took 1/2 easy fights. The rest is not his fault for not being invited in the super six.
You think he didn't want to? You think he didn't like the idea of having 3 big fights and needing to only win 1 by Tko/Ko and advance further for a 4th big pay day ? I bet he wanted.

He wanted a fight with Froch , negotiations stopped when the Super six project has find himself lying on his table.
