He didnt just lose to them though, he got embarrassed badly.

Hatton had a great career, but if you take out the Tszyu win, he just had a good career.

I recommend the fight be watched with the sound down.

Bull**** , going to Vegas and going late into the fight v the worlds best p4p fighter needs to be acknowledged , the problem most Aussies got with Hattin is that he stopped kostya i'n a fight Many Aussies expected Kostya to breeze , if any Aussie had have got beaten twice by the best two p
4p fighters i'n the world you can bet your arse that fact would be brought up when his career is getting debated .

 you are correct.he was an unbackable favourite here.and yes if an Australians only 2 losses were against P4P no.1's it would indeed be mentioned when his career was being debated.i had KT in under 6 rounds myself.

I ain't saying he was an ATG mate he was basically a very good face fighter , he won genuine world class titles i'n two different weights , above average when compared to blokes that claim ATG status after winning IBO titles ( oh and Hattin won a few of those as well but ain't really considered IMO when rating him ) pecks ,my opinion of Hatton as a fighter is a what could have beenif he didn't lash it up between fights .

Always a straight shooter Stiff (props to you mate ) what I find a laugh is some serious heavy hitting fans of the sport on here still can't give Hatton his dues i'n boxing terms due to his nationality .

Very true Josey, it's similar to the "Aussie" thread in general forum exposing general Australian attitudes when an outsider critizes any aspects of Australian culture or living etc.

Aussies hate when someone says something is less than perfec here in Australia.

If Ricky only had a "Good" career, heaven help your description of so many other great Pommy fighters who never went 10 rounds the likes of Mayweather.
Frank Warren was calling the shots, but the common opponents like Urango & Tackie were beaten by him in the same fashion at KT did, & Ricky beat KT's Nemisis, Phillips, much as we like to forget it.
He knocked out Jose Luis Castillo in 4 rounds, something Floyd couldn't do in 2 attempts.

He's up there with the best of british & he beat the bloke (KT) who beat the blokes that were never put in front of him. You can't bag him for that.

I do agree that Frank was smart enough to make KT an offer he couldn't refuse, & pull him as far away from his comfort zone as possible, but KT never made any real attempt to do it again out here. So in my book, Rick takes the win. He was a great fighter.
It was 2AM in both corners as well.

I don't think Australians have a monopoly there Kel mate I see it here on occasion, being a Taffy mate I have got used to giving opponents props when on the losing side or our lad has lost lol , just human nature I suppose it's probably it's so ingrained i'n you culture to win as opposed to being happy to compete at world level i'n the first place that sometimes cause Aussie torment ,

the JLC bodyshot was one of the best i've seen.i thought or hoped he could bring it out against Floyd after Floyds layoff and competing on Dancing with the stars before their fight.but it wasnt to be.

Don't forget the "check hook" Stiff lol everyone i'n the world knew Hatton had no defence against it going into the fight , I laughed my ****ing bollocks off reading the boards post fight and seeing every expert out there proclaiming it was always going to be the limited hattons downfall , lmfao

I know you're not referring to him as an ATG. I just dont think that his career would have been looked at the same if you take away the Tszyu win.

I certainly dont hate Ricky as a fighter, or a person. In fact, outside the ring I reckon he'd be one of the better boxers to socialize with.

I think it's refreshing to see a pro boxer let himself go between fights and not take himself too seriously.

Sally on the turps is a scary thought indeed.

Lol Getting skulled after a fight is one thing , going on a two month twister is another , when you consider what he was actually doing between fights it makes his career even more admirable , Sally would get nothing but love if he ever came to Josey town .
