Floyd's footwork is on another level. The last fighter I can think of that has the footwork speed along with the coordination to go with it would be James Tony and a prime Roy Jones...

Trying to think of fighters who have this level of footwork only one name came to mind...Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker...

For those that don't know, footwork is key in controlling the fight (NOT REFERRING TO "FOOT SPEED" EITHER"

In my opinion this is what technically sets Floyd apart from MOST EVERY OTHER fighter today.

Floyd has incredibly fast feet. That's how he escaped Cotto, Margarito, and Paquiao.

NEGATIVE...COTTO OK I CAN ACCEPT THAT

PAC DIDNT WANT THE TESTING....TONY HAD A MANDO TO TAKE AND FLOYD WAS PURSUING OSCAR AT THAT TIME..

AND ACTUALLY TO GET RIGHT TO IT..FLOYD WAS AFTER SHANE MOSLEY FOR THAT NOV 4 2006 DATE..U KNOW....TONY'S DADDY....AS I RECALL SHANE HAD A TOOTHACHE....SO YEA....MARGARITO....LMFAO...HE WAS RANKED 1...FLOYD HAD ALREADY BEATEN THE 2 GUY AND ENDED UP WITH THE LINEAL CHAMP WHO BEAT ZAB..

TRY TELLING THE ENTIRE STORY..NOT JUST BITS AND PIECES..BACK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND THOUGH..

THAT FOOTWORK WOULD CONFUSE THE **** OUT OF MANNY...FIGHT WOULD BE BOXED AT SUCH A SLOW PACE THAT AT THE END OF IT, WHEN FLOYD GOT THE BORING UD, U WOULD TAKE IT AWAY AND SAY "PAC IS SMALL"..

BACK TO THREAT TOPIC ******* :deal:hi:

Anyone who actually boxes- try to pull off some of the **** he does, its damn near impossible and requires ridiculous footwork.

The pullback right hand, thats beautiful and requires perfect spacing.

Just b/c he stands his ground more doesnt mean he has poor footwork. In fact its impeccable.

This thread is interesting to me.

The thread starter mentions Whitaker. Whitaker's footwork and specifically his habit of crossing his feet is the one area people seem to agree he was slighly deficient in for his type....Toney, same. Although capable, he was flat-footed and immobile, he was hugely reliant upon upper body-movement for both offense and defence and he wasn't quick at closing distance nor that good at cutting of the ring. Even inside, where he used excellent small moves he was far less reliant upon footwork than Percy Bassett or Ray Robinson or somebody.

Basically, I think the people Floyd is being compared to are odd choices given the thread-starters idea.
