Hatton could take a good hit or two just before he moved up to fight Collazo, his punch resistance was pretty shot ever since.

Someone needs to make a Hatton/Katsidis thread. These three would be the ringleaders in exciting fights if they had fought eachother.

Yet another cracking fight if that happened, i reckon Hatton would provide too much firepower though, late tko or a brutal UD to prime Hatton over Kats imo...

Definitely. Hatton was simply a better fighter than Ward. Much more talented as Hatton had good speed of hand and foot, and was more inventive in setting up his body work. Both of them looked to land those left hooks to the body, but Hatton was much quicker and used pivots or quick jumps to land them (also landing the right to the body when he did a quick jump to the left).

Hatton still took Tyszu's punches. And they both fought dirty.

alot of hate towards Hatton generally for Ricky on esb, if the man wasnt 'elite' he was certainly only a tier below having lost to pbf and pac. Gatti was never regarded at that level, Hatton would cut Gatti down before the later rounds.

I just couldnt see Hatton taking it.. He has nothing to offer except wrestling and bodyshots.

I think Katsidis would have took him if not Gatti.

    This from an Englishman

I see this as and easy FOTY.

I think some of Gatti's wins personified when "the will outweighs the skill". And I want to believe the same would happen to Hatton.

Prime for Prime, it's obvious we would see some fireworks. I see both fighters getting cuts as well. But after a feel out round or two, I see Hatton start to pull ahead on points, all the while feel the pain of Gatti's left periodically. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Hatton is a Ward type fighter (obviously Hatton is more skilled), but I think Ward had a better chin than Hatton overall (sue me).

So I wanna say somewhere around the tenth, Gatti behind on points lands a fight changing left, and doesnt let up from there.

I think it's fair and unbaised to think, Gatti Tko11 Hatton is very possible. But if Gatti doesnt score a ko, I see a decision something like, Hatton 116-112 Gatti.

I think i agree with this post entirely, maybe Ward had a better chin, if this was the case would Hatton take Gatti's punches/combos so well? Or would Hatton smother him to the degree Gatti wouldn't land anywhere near the same number/type of shots on Ricky as he did Micky, i do feel a prime Hatton did have a lot more movement than Ward and a higher tempo though, i could equally see Hatton winning on a late tko/ko aswell.
I find this thread question pretty intriguing as i do the Hatton-Katsidis element, if only these fights did happen, we'd be blessed with war, we're talking about pure fighters rather then pure bred boxers here, man i wish i could control time lines and make these fights happen lol. :bbb
