Floyd's footwork is pretty much on some jedi master **** right now. Sure he's slowed down a bit but now he's just more subtle and economical as opposed to "running"(no pun) around the whole ring like he use too. Watch the Shane fight after the 2nd round when he adapted . There was a few occasions when Shane would throw a right hand and Floyd would "dart" backwards faster than Shane's punch. His legs aren't shot like the liar Roach has said. He still has some 6th sense when "feeling" his opponent attacks. What's even better than Floyd's footwork is his awareness. I believe its his true gift that births all his others.

Hate? What hate? All I said was he doesn't move like he used to, and you got all butt hurt over that.

And in case you didn't notice, my first post in here wasn't even TO YOU. So I wasn't rebutting anything you said. I was adding too. Do you understand that? For ****'s sake man... get out of the ghetto selling pot and get your ass to colleged. You need a class in debate.

So, as usual, go ahead and reply in ALL CAPS withouth making a lick of sense. Your posts are all over the place, like a crack child with ADD who just had too much sugar!!

When I watch Floyd, I see timing, reflexes, and precision. He puts his feet in great positions, but at far as food speed in the ring, and how he moves, he isn't the greatest. He seems to even be a little slow footed now a days, fighting a lot while stationary.

    Just how I see it.

Good stuff I see your point...he is slower these days...feet and hands both...i think he makes up for it with more defensive moves rather than to be more offensive..than again he came out pretty offensive behind his jab in the Shane Mosley fight...

good post:good Good to see someone with a good rebuttal up in here

Okay you can take what I am about to say with a grain of salt. I agree that Floyd's use of his feet is a key aspect of his success, but so is Pac's. The thing is both are masters of quick RANGE control. Floyd can be in range, out of range, stand there whenever he wants, and not get hit because his sense of range and spatial accuracy is impeccable coupled with his reflexes. Pac is less precise so he is in and out much more quickly and is much clumsier, but his fast feet keep him from getting hit by welterweights.

I can jump rope okay too, and move in and out like Pac, but I don't have the spatial super sensory awareness nor precise motor control Floyd has and so I can't do any of the stuff he does in fights. (amatuer)

Pernell was a master of range too - ALWAYS just out of your range. So while he did whatever he wanted with his feet, like crossing them or getting down too low, he had this same sense of being just out of the places you could punch as Floyd does (for example, in his fight with JMM Floyd stands right outside the range, and either blocks, moves back a little, or ducks every time JMM gets within range or throws high). JMM's attack was simply too too conventional for Floyd's excellent sense of range, and he never had the swarming, closing the range imperative that troubled Floyd so much against Hatton (Hatton did not let him keep that range in the first five rounds and had great success, but later Floyd adapted and shot his straight right to the body of Hatton as he came in and created his own space, making Hatton look increasingly foolish). I knew when they made the JMM and Floyd fight it was a disaster for the slow footed Marquez - Floyd, Pernell, Leonard, Zahir Raheem, anybody with the archetypal fleetness of foot that is stereotyped into the African American Fighter would have had a field day in that fight against the conventional but very flat footed Marquez. This fleetness of foot allows quicker range control. Floyd is unusual in that he can actually generate a lot of force after quick shifts in range, and this is something Pac is unusual in as well.

since I mentioned it, my jump rope vid - you can see the speed coupled with a kind of awkward clumsiness. I can kind of do the stuff floyd does, and quickly ... my body just kind of looks sloppy and awkward. The precise motor control Floyd has makes him such an incredible fighter - I think Pac might look sloppier on the jump rope than Floyd, maybe a little quicker than me. There are a lot of fast guys.

:patsch Get this through your thick skull...I was ADDING TO YOUR DISCUSSION on his footwork.

And I said you need debating class because your posts have NO STRUCTURE.

You just pretty much post whatever pops up in your head in any order. Learn STUCTURE, then try again... That's not bad advice, not hating, just giving you a bit of advice so your posts make more sense.

Running around a lot isn't the only way to use the slick Black American style. Floyd's style of fighting has evolved with age. Why bother to use up energy by moving if you can still make them miss standing right in front of them?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81non05aKX4#t=2m25s

Look at kids like Miguel Cotto, Sergio Martinez, and emmanuel pacquiao, they get on their bicycles moar than Floyd does and still take greater punishment. Running around isn't the only way to avoid shots.

As usual Lance doesn't have a clue. PBF's footwork is the best in the game today. The way he can control the space and the angles anticipating his opponents moves by being in the right position is amazing. Also he's usually always in a perfect postion for the counter.

Leon actually has a great point. The sometimes excessive lateral movement used by fighters today can be their downfall(see: the Andre Dirrell slips). Being set and boxing with proper stance, position and balance can be >>>>>> running around in a circle.

    Is he relevant now?

    He is on vacation!!!

When he plans to come back from vacation, we can talk about how fast his feet crossed the street.

    Chickens are not relevant anymore.

Is this your way of making people talk about an irrelevant fighter?

You really have a Degree? I doubt it.

San Diego must be pathetic! How did you finish a degree considering that your written English is pathetic.

This is a good post! It really shows a persons level of knowledge of the sweet science. McGrain and Aramini have the best points IMO. I feel like PBF has footwork that matches the level of ALI and SRR. They were faster but PBF has better balance and distance control. RJJ had the fastest and best reflexes ever! ALI had the fastest feet lb for lb ever. SRL had the fastest feet (mph if thats what u wanna call it, but you know wut I mean) ever. Hopkins has the best distance control ever. Sweet pea was the most elusive ever. SRR was the originator of all that **** so you gotta put him above all the guys with Ali pretty right next to him bcuz even though ALI did it a as good as SRR but he was a heavywieght so it was more impressive, but he literally got it from SRR so you gotta make them even. But PBF has his own style all together so hes an originator of his own **** I gotta put him even with those guys. Pacman has ATG great footwork too but a level under these guys.
