Yep watch what Chavez did to Macho. Thats an S class pressure fighter. He cut off the ring magnificently. Macho could not even breath and Chavez was on him again.

Hard to be comfortable stalking cotto. but manny did some great things in that fight by sticking and moving effectively, drawing cotto back for counters which scored his KD's, a lot of new and improved stuff i hadn't seen in a while.

But this topic is more about infighters than somebody like Manny, right?

He didn't have the best head movement, but certainly better than Kostya.

Its why I dont understand anyone question Macho Mans heart. I dont think anyone would have said anything if he didnt come off his stool for the 12th after this shallacking.

Chavez definitely gets a little underrated on these threads.

This thread is just about pure pressure, stalking wearing the fighter down.

Manny has great feints. Seen him do it in sparring. He'll feint get the fighter to cover up and then wail on the opening. But he looked uncomfortably trying to get at Cotto when he was on the back foot jabbing and moving. Cotto can move well and decent jab but he has no defense off the back foot and gets caught alot, as to why I wouldnt consider Pacquiao a great pressure fighter.

  8. Shane was paid to lose.

Had Floyd on ***** Street and immediatey laid off and started pawing at him.

That has to do as much with the reach/size advantage as Manny's lack of infighting skill. Pacquiao is a great pressure fighter, he has certainly proved it by breaking peeps down as well as he has over twelve. He just isn't the greatest infighter. Or rather, he could be better.

You guys think Floyd will take the fight in the pocket at any period in his fight with emmanuel? emmanuel can't fight in the pocket for ****. Cotto and Hatton tried to go inside, but they DID NOT KNOW HOW TO get there. Young Mayweather has applied pressure on each and every one of his southpaw victims.

Of course PBF will go to the inside against Pac it will be a big key to beating him. Pac has **** defense anyway and will get schooled and picked apart while PBF is there. PBF will make Pac fight his fight on the inside and outside limiting the ammount of time the fight is at mid range but even there he could find success with his longer reach and ability to get off faster.

How about Vitaly Klitchko he wears guys down and beats them into submission or the Hospital. Rocky Marciano also broke guys down to a pulp breaking capularies and bones with his non stop offence.

Andre Ward would be the best shout I would give. Cotto used to be great at effective pressure, but he doesn't commit to the body anymore... so I wouldn't necessarily say him. Floyd may indeed be the best at this. Once he goes on the front foot, he does a great job at imposing himself. What he did against Mosley was incredible to watch.
