Pacquaio has overrated footwork

I disagree....I'm more impressed with his footwork than his hand speed at times...

damn. that actually made me laugh. especially the larry merchant bit. but for real, they arent joined at the hip. u can discuss one without talking about the other. the topic here is pacquiao's footwork. why not talk about that? his footwork is very good. his lateral movement is phenomenal. i want to see how he ll react going backwards and what he ll do if he cant hurt margarito.

They say Pac fights from angles, how do you think he creates those angles? Teleporting?

Angles are created by footwork...a great example of this is the DLH fight, where Pac would just turn him all night. Footwork.

 

he was turning him. thats done with lateral movement. not going backwards. if margo doesnt get hurt early hes gonna make pacquiao back up. and margo can cut off the ring pretty well. he sticks onto his opponents like stink on a ******. he doesnt let u breathe. i think he has the chin to back manny up.

 

I dont know about his footwork but i known he does formidable foot job

Out of all the things you could've chosen to criticise, you picked his footwork? lol what a joke! His footwork is probabily his biggest strength.

 

He did it pretty well vs. Cotto, who himself isn't bad at it either when he fought Mosley. There are times when Emmanuel does go straight back with his arms up like he did with Cotto and Clottey, but he did that on purpose to persuade the other fighter to open up with their offense. In another words, he was playing possum and inviting the other fighter to trade with him. And if he doesn't get phased with Margarito's power, he might do the same. It's just a tactic that he does, but he does it on purpose.

 

The funny thing about these threads is that, they seem fine now, but then the thread starter, who predicted Manny to have a tough time or lose, won't give him any credit at all if he does win. Not that it matters but it is interesting.

 

What is your point? Lateral movement is footwork, a very dificult aspect of footwork to master. Pac will use lateral movements on Margo, using his feet.
