That list of wins is no better than Vitali's, Ken Norton is the best name on there and he's certainly no ATG.

Lennox Lewis KO'd a much younger all round better Briggs in five, fact is Vitali couldnt finish someone who had a bit of determination and wasn't a complete tomato can like Arreola.

Also what was Ali doing at 39? what was Tyson doing at 39? these fighters all made their mark (For tyson it was early) and their careers naturally fizzled out, whilst Vitali only really burst onto the scene aged 32/33 in a losing effort against Lennox Lewis.

    Dear Lord...

A young Lewis knocked out a young Briggs (not without difficulties) while and old Vitali sent and old Briggs into the hospital (in a lot more severe beating). In the past years, not only Briggs aged you know. Vitali is acutally OLDER than Briggs. BTW, I don't know why you guys disregard the Klitschkos pre-Lewis (Vitali) /Byrd II (Wlad). Up to that point they already picked up a belt and beat a bunch of the top contenders of the Lewis era, including Schulz, Mercer, Botha, McCline, Hide and Larry Donald. Even then that's what the division had to offer, and if they fought and certainly beat Tyson and Holyfield, you guys would say they beat the old shells of past greats. It doesn't seem the Klitschkos can do anything for your respect, because barely losing a single round in the past 5 years is not enough, even though they beat 8 reigning or former world champion and took away 7 unbeaten records, going 16-0 with 13KOs in as many world titile fights.

    We've gone over this before.................

Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Larry Holmes & Mike Tyson were all great fighters that ruled over somewhat weak divisions. It didn't affect the legacies of these greats did it?

Shannon had some good moments early in that, Lennox actually turned his back a ran didn't he? Let's not just remember the good parts that suit our side of the argument shall we? At no point in the fight did Shannon appear to have the upper hand against Vitali...............and yes, both VK & Briggs were up there in age but VK is actually older.

If it helps, I do have Holmes ahead of Wladimir & Vitali based on resumé, but not head to head.

...........and yes, Vitali is getting a bit old.

Vitali went easy on briggs clearly.

he could had opened up on briggs and double up and just unleashed hell on briggs.

instead vitali just hit him with 1 and 2 combinations the whole night. not even putting his body in his punches.
