For me, yes. Hamed's lack of fundamentals is the main reason for that. I don't consider him a 'great' fighter in the sense I could never imagine him beating another great fighter. Whereas Driscoll was a real defensive wizard and a true technician.

I don't mind having Hamed though if I can move Driscoll one down ;)

Junior feather seems a bit sparse on talent.

Michael Brodie has to be considered at super bantamweight.

Yes, his two defeats came against greats but who else did he fight of that calibre. Tszyu was past it and on short notice, plus Hatton was allowed to fight like a WWE wrestler. Apart from that what did he do? He hang around defending his WBU crown for years and years. He lost to Collazo, IMO and I hear Urango gave him a good going over.

As I remember it Hatton thoroughly outboxed Urango for about 6 rounds and then he got nailed with a few body shots and then hit and held for the right of the night.

You could comprimise by putting Hamed at super bantam which was arguably his best weight.

Owen Moran would be clearly Britain's best ever bantam and would be a Top 10 contender as an ATG Brit in some observers eyes.

Don't see Fitz as British or Jimmy McClarin who was an Ulster Protestant who moved to Canada at the age of 3 and then renounced Canada when he saw he could make money in the States as an Irish fighter. Money talked back then as well and Jimmy was a millionaire by the age 21.

    Heavyweight - Lennox Lewis

    Cruiserweight - David Haye

    Light Heavyweight - John Conteh

    Super middleweight - Joe Calzaghe

    Middleweight - Randy Turpin

Junior middleweight - Maurice Hope (I reckon he's Britains best at this weight)

    Welterweight - Ted 'Kid' Lewis

Junior welterweight - Ricky hatton (Jack 'Kid' Berg was a career Lightweight and fought offically at Lightweight when he defended his LWW belt against Tony Canzoneri )

    Lightweight - Ken Buchanan

Junior lightweight - Pat Coldwell ????

    Featherweight - Jim Driscoll

Junior featherweight - Michael Brodie - Can't think of anyone else (Wayne McCullough declared for Ireland and never fought for a British title.)

    Bantamweight - Owen Moran

    Junior bantamweight - Jimmy Wilde

Flyweight - Jimmy Wilde (Best division for number and quality of British world champions. During the period 1913 to 1950 there were only 10 odd years when a Brit did not hold the title.)

    Junior flyweight - Jimmy Wilde

    Strawweight - Jimmy Wilde

I'd like to hear that arguement:D
Who did he beat at super bantam?

  10. Tysuzu was short notice???
Colazzo was at Welterweight so doesn't count.

    Tysuzu
    Urango
    Castillo
    Malignaggi
    Mausa

all top 5 light welterweight when he beat them. thats impressive.

If you wanna be negative you can pick anyones record apart. Calzaghe faced over the hill Jones, Hopkins and Eubank. Should have lost to Reid. Lacy was over rated. Faced bums for 8 years. Kessler the only good win.

  11. those who have Jimmy Wilde at 3-4 weights I don't think is fair. pick his best weight and find others.

Collazo doesn't count? So why bother fighting him?

berg beat chocolate twice and also in his first fight with canzoneri won by decision , and the papers of the day said that it was the worst beating that canzoneri had taken in his career up to that point
