a heavy handed sob in his day....at mw. "z" is past it. its a safe fight for cloud. smw was probably a bridge too far for him let alone lhw he got destroyed by bute and has since fought a couple guys who have a combined record of a few wins and a lotta loses.

i'm happy he's getting the payday but cloud should get him outta there early. i big moral victory for fulgencio if he can hear the cards read.

Were you also hoping Enrique Ornelas would knock Hopkins the **** out? :blood

So-so middleweight bangers tend not to do so well against top light heavyweights...but hey, keep hope alive. Bizarre turns are what make the sport interesting. :yep :good

I dont expect him to win, I just hope he knocks Cloud out because I like him and, well, Cloud deserves it for taking such a bull**** fight.

    Fair enough.

I'm one to talk - I myself was hoping for Steve Forbes to knock out De La Hoya, and Demarcus Corley to knock out Maidana...realizing the chances were almost nil in both cases (although Corley put on an amazing performance...and come to think of it, little Stevie didn't give too bad an account of himself either).

What got him this title shot? hes done nothing to earn it just as he did nothing to earn the Bute shot, not trying to disrespect him because it could be a good fight but there could be someone more deserving

I mean, it's not a great fight, but at least Cloud isn't waiting for April or May to fight again. perhaps this is just a stay busy fight as he works out things with Dawson or the winner of BHop/Pascal??

Cloud has fought 4 times in the past 3 years, and wants to be more active, so he opted to take a fight off television (no remaining tv dates available this year), and for less than the minimum his contract calls for. This is a stay busy fight for him before he hopes to face a champion or a top contender (and he says he's even willing to travel overseas to do so). So I think you're being a little harsh here. I can understand having a gripe with this being a "title defense," maybe it should have been a non-title affair. But considering the circumstances, I don't have much of an issue with this particular fight. Realistically, there isn't many legitimate opponents (if any) Cloud could have took on off television and for short money.
