I was just checkin out Rigondeuaxes boxrec page and under amateur acheivements i saw he defeated Abner Mares 17-7 in the pan-am games in 2003. That wasnt too long ago. you guys think he can do it again??
I have studied Rigondeaux's style in exhaustive detail, concluding that he will have success against regional, low-grade opponents such as Cordoba, Lopez, Mares, Vasquez, Marquez, and Molitor, but will lose to the following Euro-level athletes emerging in his division: Sahib Usarov 15-0 Oleksandr Yehorov 4-0 Zahar Plodunov 3-0 Ruslan Mastyka 2-0 Artur Gavoci 2-0 Although these fighters have limited professional experience. I have followed their development for years, concluding that Rigondeaux will have no answer for the tough, Euro-level style of boxing that these fighters convey.
This question will be much more answerable once we see how Rigondeaux fights Cordoba who is a world class level fighter.
