We may as well just abolish them all. Pick a fighter to fight, pick an contracted weight (not "weight class") to fight at and get it on.....

    I agree.
In reality a championship belt is a "bargaining" tool at best. (in this era)

I like Foreman with a parrot on his shoulder with Dundee feeding him tacos for energy.

the belts are just the cherry on top now, weight divisions are irrelevant when we have catchweights fights happening

Soon we'll have fighters going up 1lb to win another world title in a different weight.

titles just make the fight definitive. it still sounds better, even to hardcore fans.

wlad vs haye in 12 rounder

    or

wlad vs haye for the heavyweight championship of the world.

My god, merely eating a burger or taking a **** could make you a two-weight class champ

I have to agree with this statement. For some reason a unification fight sounds a bit better than the champion v no.1 challenger. I guess it's just the word "champion" means the best so technically its two #1 fighters fighting than 1 and 2.

Sugar Ray Leonard - WBC Champion
    V
    Thomas Hearns - WBO Champion

Good to see you're getting aboard the Asianchickvatar wagon. More deserving of a thread than the actual topic here.

agreed but not anyone can force this. you have to be a superstar like oscar, pac and floyd in order to manipulate these weight classes or at least make the alphabet organizations bow down to you.
