i didnt get to watch the fight havent yet,

but was Direll really outclassing/outboxing Arthur Abraham for the whole 10-11 rounds?

in your opinion, forget about the illegal blow...

Carl froch thinks Dirrell beat Abraham very comfortably before the illegal blow.

Yes, for the first 8 rounds I believe. Maybe 9. Abraham was making a better showing, and it seemed Dirrell was slowing down a bit in the last two rounds, but it was pretty one sided up until that point.

For the first 8 rounds or so, he very comfortably outboxed Abraham - Landing hard rights and straight lefts through Abrahams high guard. He also knocked him down about halfway through fight. He had amassed a large lead on the scorecards before the foul. Abraham still had a punchers chance, but in terms of scoring, he wasn't in the fight. Although he did knock Dirrell down, he wasn't really hurt.

Yes he was schooling Abraham dropped him and from what I remember hadn't really lost around until round 7 or so.

Dirrell's display that night was one of the best boxing performances I've seen in quite a long time from a young fighter. Yes, he was miles ahead on the cards by the time of the DQ.

Dirrell took the early going easily, but Abraham was starting to come back into the fight before the illegal shot, and had Dirrell on the run.

Plus the knockdown that wasn't counted.

Dirrel put a schooling on him for the first 7-8 rounds and Abraham had a whole load of work to do, but he had a bit of time and the tide certainly felt as though it was changing. I'd love to have seen how the rest of that fight unfolded

Absolutely. Abraham won the two rounds before the DQ, but Dirrell had seemed to adjust by the time the DQ happened and was handily winning the round of the DQ.

Definitely. He reminded me a bit of Roy Jones the way he was able to move in and out and just land anything at will because of his amazing hand speed. It was a schooling.

He outboxed AA on distance for most of the fight, using speed, reach and angles, but outclassed? He dominated his part of the fight, but then AA figured out how to cut down the ring more effectively and started to catch Dirrell pretty well. 1 knockdown per each (AA's not counted), and it was 7 rounds to 3 on 2 cards heading into the 11th, when of course AA sabotaged his own late turnaround with that stupid shot. DiBella said he thought AA was about to pull a Taylor on Dirrell, but ended up pulling a Roy Jones, Bad Boy Arthur.

Goes both ways though. Dirrell also knocked down Abraham once that wasn't counted.

Yes he was clearly superior, BUT: He also looked nervous, Abraham got close a few times and Dirrell didn't look mentally prepared. He did his annoying slipping/wrestling routine, just as he did against Froch. Dirrell may be the most naturally gifted supermiddle right now, but I do believe Arbaham had a good chance to still score the KO in the next round and I wonder if we will ever see a Dirrell fight where he doesn't "slip" at least five times.
