I rate George Foreman as the fourth best heavy of all time.

    Thank you.

I usually rank Jack Johnson 3rd all-time among heavies. I liked his long list of accomplishments, and thought that a lot of his fights before he won the title are forgotten. He beat guys like Langford, Jeanette, and McVey, though he never gave them shots as a champ. Although I wouldn't argue with him being ranked a bit lower.

As for Tyson... well, I think a lot of people tend to overrate him. His actual resume wasn't that amazing. He dominated a weaker group of heavies, in my opinion, than Wlad has. I know a lot of people will roast me for that one, but again, just an opinion. 14-17 is usually where I put Mike. His run from '86-'90 was certainly impressive, and the fact that he was a top ten heavy from his release in '95 all the way to the Etienne fight, in, what, 2003? That is certainly worthy of a top 20 listing, but just barely. The best wins on his resume include an absurdly intimidated and outsized Spinks, a past-his prime Holmes, and what? Ruddock? Bruno? Pinklon Thomas? Meh. Again, not bad, but nothing spectacular. His early dominance was exciting, but he was kind of a flash in the pan who benefited from a weaker era and suffered when the era improved.

If the list were head-to-head, Tyson might potentially rank higher (maybe), but my lists are based on resume and overall strength of accomplishments. From that end, it is difficult to put Iron Mike in the top 10.

I dont think Foreman looked good against Ali.
It's very hard to gauge how he'd look against others, or who he was capable of beating. He was certainly a wrecking machine.

On the one hand people say he was an almost irrestible force that only Ali (and maybe one or two others) could resist, but on the other hand the best fighters he'd beat before then were made for his style (Frazier, Norton, Chuvalo).

Foreman was exactly the same force against Ali as he was with Frazier and Norton. With Ali,he was up against someone that he simply could n't deal with. Technically,Ali was a bit past his best in 1974,but he'd still have beaten a lot of prime greats on that night, and given others a hell of a fight before losing on points.
