How on earth did Tito still command $250k? More than Cain's guaranteed salary for a headline bout?

Tito is probably still on an old contract from when he was relevant. He only fights once a year.

i dont think so, he left the ufc in 2008 on bad terms and his contract had been terminated. he signed a new contract with the ufc in 2009.

Its no wonder he signed again. He makes more money than the head-liner despite not winning a fight since beating Ken in their 3rd bout which seems like decades ago. Couple this with the fact that he's really not relevant anymore, other than his name and its pretty clear that the UFC is nothing more than a popularity contest.

I like Cote too. He should go to SF and try to rebuild.

How does one justify Gab Gonzaga making 67,000

More than Matt Hammil without his win bonus
    More than Paulo Thiago
And Close to 3 times the money Martin Kampmann was paid.

Were do they get these deals and some are just **** real ****.

    I agree.

I would be happy with him getting as much as 100K because he was a former champ and a good one at that but 250K. ****>>>>>>>>>

i agree. At this point in this career, Tito doesn't deserve that much anymore.

UFC probably considered the fact that to "casual fans", names like Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, etc. are still worth watching.

Tito is on his way out of the UFC. Last weekend may very well have been his last fight with the company.

Tito got that money because he is one of the people who built MMA and one of the biggest names in the sport, he has paid his dues and the ufc are giving him the bucks.
