My intent wasn't to "nitpick" but Berbick's wins hold more value to me than James Toney and Oleg Maskaev. Yeah okay, Toney was still ranked in the top five... But check out what his record was at heavy weight going into that bout... And Maskaev, despite holding a title, was 39 years old and spending the past 16 months recovering from back surgery, yet was still rocking Peter with some of those shots.. How can you label John Tate as being "done" after a single loss, but still give these other guys merit as being high quality wins? Trevor also won his biggest matches decisively, wheras I'm not even sure that Peter deserved the first decision against Toney..

The one thing that I suppose offsets their resumes, is that Berbick had losses to men like Ricky Parkey and Renaldo Snipes during his prime years, whereas Peter didn't.. But then again, could Sam Peter have beaten a peak Snipes? I don't know..

Not very well. No way he beats either Povetkin or Haye.

-Toney's record at Heavy going into the Peter fights? Pretty damn good, if you count Ruiz as a win. 4-0-1 (2 top 5 wins over Holyfield and Ruiz.) And a very good fringe win over Guinn. Of course a boring draw with top 5 Rahman that could go either way.

-Those same shots put Rahman to sleep. Oleg can hit like a mule, its about the only thing he was really effective at.

-Because it was pretty devestating loss that he never recovered from. Berbick was suppose to be an easy comeback opponent that couldn't hurt him like Weaver did. Well, I never said Tate wasn't a high quality win, I just wouldn't conclusively put it a level above Oleg and Toney.

-Splitting hairs. Peter certainly deserved the rematch.

That's cool. I suppose if we agreed on everything around here, this place would get boring.

Pottyvetkin is **** And overrated - with a record v.padded with scalps of Bums.

He one of teh wimpiest looking contenders of all time.

Fast-Food Eddie-C who is really a Cruiser was beating teh crap out of Potty until he was ROBBED by biased judges who were brided. :deal

Brided judges or not, teh wimpy looking Povetkin would still beat the crap out of Berbick. He wasn't really all that great either.

    :rofl:rofl

i never said he was great - i said he sucks, but he better then wimpy euro-bums like Potteyvetkin And Snowski.

Thomas, Tate And Page would beat teh crap out of Pottyvetkin, if his momma Teddy-A would let him play with them - which he wouldnt cos Potty likes to be fed a breakfast of BUMS.

I'm not sure that we've seen enough of Povetkin to verify that he'd get the better of a truly solid contender in his prime. Yes, he did get a good win over undefeated Chambers, but Eddie has improved since that time and I'm not even sure who'd win if they rematched. Chambers isn't all that good anyway.. Asside from that, he has basically been fighting aged ex-contenders, or tomato cans. Berbick resoundingly beat prime renditions of Pinklon Thomas, Greg Page, John Tate and went a full 15 rounds with a peak Holmes... Don't think that Povetkin could have duplicated that feat. Trevor had more than a good enough chin to take Povetkin's best, and typically did well against boxer/puncher types, which is what I think Alexander is. He also proved on numerous occasions that he could go the distance and sqeak out a victory after a grueling fight. Not saying for sure that he'd beat Povetkin, but frankly I don't see how anyone can say that Povetkin would " beat the crap " out of him, with any real conviction, especially given that he hasn't proved much in my eyes..

Nothing, that just explains a lot of your posting habits. Didn't mean anything by it.
