Who wins and how. I think it would be a real tactical affair, hamed might drop pep but i think pep would win on points by a few rounds.
Pep probably won't win by a shutout. Any fighter who can't get Hamed's respect is going to be in for a long night, and as great a Boxer as Pep is, I don't think he has the firepower to trouble The Prince, who often demonstrated a capable chin. Expect Pep to outbox Hamed for most part, he'll be the one moving, thinking in there, and throwing combination's, whereas Hamed will probably do a terrible job of cutting off the ring, and looking for the one big shot. There will be a time in the middle rounds where Pep is going through some rough spots though, but I'd never favor Hamed to get the job done against this caliber of opponent. Pep was hittable, despite the rumors. Lesser fighters have tagged him. Pep by Decision, 10-5 or 11-4.
Pep will be moving, feinting and sliding round the ring. Naz would be confounded IMO as there would be no target in front of him to launch at and I think it would cause Naz to freeze up abit and be unwilling to lead. Also Pep's jab would be pumping down the middle, and swift right hands leads would be landing. I could see Naz being retired late but I'll take a very wide points decision. Naz might have some sucess with an odd punch that catches Pep by surprise and nicks a round.
That's exactly how I see it, with more accent on the angles. For all he could be lightning Naseem worked on parallel lines. I like it big for Pep...maybe the best he could look against a great/borderline great fighter.
Agree, I just touched on the angles but they are a big thing. Naz gets made to look even more of a fool with Pep IMO
I actually don't think that Bodhi's shut-out pitch is that bad, although i'd never be so brave as to predict such a thing on the eve of a fight (and it almost never happens on judges scorecards).
I don't think this fight would be particularly competitive. Pep wins almost every round. He probably gives a few rounds away simply by being too defensive and allowing Hamed to come forward and instigate some of the action but I think Pep would make up for this by dropping Hamed a few times when he's off balance when lunging in desperation with big shots. Hamed would lose at least 5 of the first 6 rounds and then start throwing haymakers, making it easier for Pep.
:good I could literally watch it all day. You will be glad to hear I recently bought the Barrera career set and I'm currently watching the Orlando Fernandez fight
Exactly why you will never be respected by me. indecisive. I just put in the Hamed success clause because a judge is bound to score him a round at least. If any fight between two Featherweight greats or 'name's' will be a shut out this is it. Horrible stylistic match up for Naz and he is at a severe disadvantage in ability.
Pep should win a UD, but Hamed may well level him and he may well outbox him for period with his unorthodox angles, speed and ring prowess. Hamed isn't the boxer Pep is but Pep got manhandled by Saddler who isn't the boxer Hamed is BTW Hamed knocks Saddlers teeth out of the stadium
