THREE TIMES KOD IN 27 YEARS PLUS ON THE FLOOR TWICE.
That is not half baked, it's the ****ing truth.
FULTON DROPPED LANGFORD,prior to stopping him.
I included a stoppage of Johnson when he was 47 for christ sake, half baked ?
The man was 37 when Willard beat him, plus it took him 26rds.
DO YOU THINK FULTON HIT HARDER THAN WILLARD?? LANGFORD WAS 3 4 WHEN HE WAS STOPPED BY FULTON AND ,IN HIS NEXT FIGHT BEAT JEANETTE

Don't be too sure Wills was light years in front of Willard,a great deal of Wills legacy is based on beating past prime black fighters ,older than him.
MCVEY AND KETCHEL BOTH PICKED JOHNSON TO BEAT LANGFORD.
MAYBE HE WOULD ,MAYBE HE WOULDN'T, YOU MISSED THE POINT YOU SAY JOHNSON'S CHIN IS DODGY YET LANGFORD'S IS OK,MENDOZA CALLS IT" GRANITE " BULL****,HE WAS DROPPED MULTIPLE TIMES WHICH JOHNSON NEVER WAS.
HE WAS DROPPED TWICE BY PORKY FLYNN WHOSE KO % IS 17% !
HE WAS DROPPED BY JEFF CLARK 34% KO DROPPED BY KID CUTLER 19% KO'S, A JOHNSON SPARRING PARTNER !
HE WAS DROPPED BY JIM BARRY IN 2 FIGHTS IN 1907 LANGFORD WAS 24 BARRY WAS IN HIS 8TH FIGHT LANGFORD HIS 61ST ,BARRY HAS A 21% KO RECORD
HE WAS DROPPED AT LEAST ONCE, BY 9 FIGHT IRON HAGUE, reports say he did a complete cartwheel,LANGFORD WAS 26.

LANGFORD WAS GOING BLIND IN HIS LATE 30S .GREB A MIDDLE, FIGHTING HEAVIES WAS BLIND IN ONE EYE FOR YEARS HOW MANY PEOPLE PUT HIM DOWN?
I TOOK Johnson's record till he was 47,Langford's till he was 37.
If thats not open handed what is?
IF JOHNSON HAD A POOR CHIN , LANGFORD'S WAS DRESDEN.

    Me three!
Jack was "stripped" because he was sentenced to Jail in America but mainly because of his refusal to fight top contenders, with Langford mentioned in the press.

Getting a tad ****y there, aren't you ? Perhaps you'll pull a few strings and send him to the chambers then ! :hey

Understand this , you're not preaching to the newbies on this topic when you respond to me. Being loud and doubling down on a highly flawed and incomplete position does not make it right. You're clearly emotional, irrational and incorrect on the topic of Johnson.

I think Sam Langford is possibly the greatest P4P fighter that ever lived.
I think, in an on the level fight he kos Ketchel.
I think, Jack Johnson avoided Langford, when Jack was champ.
I think, Langford is clearly the best of the 4 black fighters that were not called Jack Johnson.
I think, Langford would have been Johnson's most dangerous challenger ,should he have faced him.
I think, Jack Johnson ,on his best night ,facing Langford on his best ,WINS.
I think, if Jack was less than 100% he loses.
I don't think Johnson had a suspect chin ,but, if he did, Langford's must have been worse, judging by the record books
I think, anyone who accuses me of bias against Sam Langford ,is talking out of his chocolate shitter.
I think your comment about chambers is less than I would expect from you, but no less than I will expect in the future.
I think you have been recruited by another poster, and, are being played but do not even know it.

Understand this, I don't preach to anyone, I couldnt give a flying **** about anyone else's position on any boxer, newbies, oldbies, or cbeebies.

Emotional;,irrational, incorrect? NO ,but I do have a slight cold.

I think I am pissed off with you.:hi:

This has been McVey's jihad since day one. Careful now or he will label you a bigot. I find this ironic as Mcvey has seen, and researched far less than either you or I.

And if you are reading this McVey, were you able to figure out the link? Do tell, as both Langford looks better than Johnson ever did on film. Jeanette's out fighting and movement skills are superior to Johnson's as well. Its so easy to see.

That is how I read it, though I was not sure of the dates. Thanks Matt. Big time money offers for Johnson were out there and in France he could have fought either Jeanette, McVey, or Langford.

Question to the board. Has any lineal champion has ever skirted the three best contenders during a long title reign?

Actually Johnson was stripped by the French sanctioning body in question because of his refusal to meet either Langford or McVey. The same sanctioning body then sanctioned the Langford-jeannette fight as being for the HW championship. In a move to discredit this Johnson defended his title the day before this bout took place against Jim Johnson.

Also for the record I think Fulton hit much harder than Willard.

Those stats are fine even true maybe but they don't tell the whole story. Johnson fought defensively. Langford fought wide open. Langford gave away weight and inches to most. Blackburn land a hook on him in the 3rd that shook him to his soles. Langford said he never recovered from that punch and went 12 more rds. Johnson said he would quit a fight before something like that ever happened

    Why was Langford stripped?
