wow...this one turned into a bash real fast....

Anyways...Cotto at no point in his career could beat Floyd....just to slow and to easy to hit ontop of that he would never be able to outthink Floyd...Arum felt the same...here's why i believe so.....if you recall....Arum was open about pursuing Floyd for MARGO...we know this because there was an offer made for Margo.....why did he never make an offer for Cotto if they wanted that fight so bad? They never tried to fight Floyd only ran their mouths the only one Arum tried to get a fight with Floyd was Margo.

I think the Cotto thing was more about Arum trying to milk Cotto who at the time was his cash cow....he didnt want to risk it...however he had a bad ass who had nothing to lose in Margo so he figures lets take a swing in the dark here....hey if Margo loses we dont exactly lose anything..but if he wins......well is definitely a plus. So to be fair i think alot of the Cotto/Floyd thing had politics all over it.....i honestly dont think it was either fighter....i just dont think that fight could have been made due to Arum. No doubt in my mind had Cotto been with someone else...that fight gets made.

The only time i believe he should have fought Margo is when Margo whooped Cotto for the belt...at that point Margo had something to offer and had a little buzz with him...thats the only time i felt Margo was indeed a good fight....other than that Margo had done nothing to warrant that type of fight or money...kind of like now with Pac/Margo....but again that fight is politics too.

In fact if you think about it alot of it is to do with politics today its alot of the reasons why we dont get those big fights.

On another note i too would have liked to see Margo/Floyd and Floyd/Cotto....wouldnt mind seeing them now either but this Pac/Floyd is such a dark cloud over Floyd i believe.....i dont think he can do too much without facing Pac first.

 

Not to mention Bob was spoon feeding Floyds leftovers to Cotto. Great post.

it isn't like Floyd has really fought many great guys to make him fight his fight. If he fought more and fought guys who were real welts, he would be tested. He doesn't want a test. Who does, but he really does not want a tough fight.

I can understand people saying Pac could they are on the same level there A+ fighters. Cotto is a B+ fighter. Its a diffrence from the Oba Carrs and Vargases From the Trinidads and the Bernard Hopkins its a class up

he fights who the people want him to fight and that person generally is the guy that did run through everybody
