Naz is one of my favourite fighters but he`s not taking 4 or 5 rds off Willie Pep, no way... he hasnt got the technical ability or adaptability & he doesnt hit like Saddler either, Pep would embarass Naz IMO.
Adorable like those puppies? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNo-dFGyh9c&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
I've watched a lot of Pep recently. Okay, this is post-crash Pep I've been watching, but he was hittable, and could get tagged pulling away from shots. Revisionist history would have you believe that Hamed was a C level fighter, but he wasn't, he could hit very hard, and was awkward to defend against. What more do you want? I've said Pep wins the fight handily, he'd be busier, he'd actually be thinking in there as opposed to looking to land the "big bomb". Hamed didnt' all of a sudden stop boxing when he fought Barrera, he'd been like that long before '01. Pep moving, landing his jab, landing his combination's, but Hamed is going to strike it lucky at least once in the fight and that will disrupt Pep for a few rounds, in my opinion. I don't think it's out of the question to suggest that Hamed was capable of winning at least 3-4 rounds. Pep was elusive, he wasn't unhittable.
Great chin, great combination. You seem to think we're playing a game, Bill. I like Erik...I have nothing bad to say about the guy. It's all about you and the chip on your shoulder. Time to smarten up.
We've been doing this **** for years now, Bill. Let's just appreciate both of them. We ain't gonna see two quite like them for awhile.
Agreed.... but try not to assume what I was thinking just because I never commented on the greatness of Barrera`s 3 punch combo, I was impressed with Morales ability to absorb such punches in that fight, this fight was one of the main reasons Morales was my fav fighter, doesnt mean I thought Barrera`s performance was **** or anything, I just preferred the qualities of Morales. :good
You've been shitting on Marco for almost three years. I know exactly what you were thinking. Come on now. :hey Morales lands a combination. "How ****in' cool was that". Barrera lands a combination. "**** man, look at Erik eat that ****. How ****in' cool is that".
Pep was a fine and beautifully skilled boxer, but he wasn't that physically strong or powerful, nor was he particularly tall. I think that spells disaster for him against a guy as fast, strong and explosive as Hamed. Sure he could give Hamed lots of troubles, but over the long haul, I actually see Hamed's talent getting to him. Either Hamed by KO or Pep by decision, but I give the edge to Hamed. But I wouldn't strongly argue against someone who thought that Pep would win.
Im not gonna go out of my way & praise a ***** I dont like... Morales on the other hand, is of course god :yep
Pep against a smaller man who was never a great technical boxer in the first place, it's a boxing clinic.
