A rough and tumble Castillo already beat him. Everyone else he has faced has had too many question marks to give him full credit for the victories.
Why could he not repeat his performance? It did not take over a year and a bad loss later for this rematch to happen, like it did for Pac vs Morales 2 (after Morales's loss to Zahir Raheem). Nor did it take 4 years and his opponent to be 34 years of age, for it to happen either...like it did for Pac vs JMM 2 (while Pac was still in his 20's). JLC was prime and could not prove he was the better fighter, in two attempts. The first fight, was a very close fight, against Floyd at 75% (due to injury), and if you want to give it to JLC, so be it. But, he is not the better fighter.
Mayweather = Most overrated boxer in the history of the sport. If Boxing goes on for another 1 million years he will never fall from the title of most overrated if he does not fight Manny. Don't matter how great he looks in the ring, conditioning, olympics "0" on the record. He avoided dangerous fighters because he does not have the right style to beat the best of the best in their prime which is why he never has and never will face a prime warrior. Zero wins vs any great fighter in their prime. Clearly lost to Castillo in first fight and clearly ducked every single dangerous fighter from Kosta to Manny. He was at the right place at the right time to earn the $ he did but in terms of who he beat and their age his record is worthless.
Yes, it is categorically impossible that Floyd could ever have fought any of these guys. And the fact that Mayweather fought Castillo at lightweight means that his whole resume is much deeper and stronger than Pacquiao's. And it was Margarito who feared Floyd. Great post man!!
