    The first time I saw Williams fight I thought the same thing. He only had a few fights, and I thought, "If this kid learns to fight tall and use his leverage, he'll be hell on wheels."

    Several years and many fights later I'm still thinking, "If this kid will learn to fight tall and . . . . . ." Well . . . you know!

    Davis was such a great amatuer that lots of people had high expectations. In my 40 plus years as a boxing fan I have not seen many bigger disappointments.

    And, I have a general response to the thread as a whole. Zab Judah and Kelly Pavlik both have a lot left. Pavlik is only 28 years old, and there were some pretty harsh circumstances surrounding his two losses. Zab is by no means old, and he never belonged at 147. He may yet do big things at 140.

    Danny Jacobs hopefully stopped believing the Danny Jacobs hype, and will learn from his mistakes

    The books ain't closed on these three guys.

    One more post. Anybody remember Johny "Bump City" Bumpus? Back in the early days of ESPN that little dude was the darling of the network. Lost in his first shot at a world title, and retired.

    Pretty tough call. ODLH, Trinidad, Whittacker and Quartey were all at WW with him.

    For me it was Jorge Luis Gonzalez, Lawrence Clay-Bey and Shannon Briggs

    I have always been a critic of Miguel Cotto...But he is in NO WAY, A MAJOR BUST!!!

    Pavlik is sooooo done!!!! He has a lot to learn and the sad part...is that he shouldv'e learned it by now. He can't Box, has No Defense and gets hit WAY TOO MUCH!!!

    Johny Bumpus...Damn, I haven't heard that name in a long time!!!!

    i think you are wrong, bumpcity won a title at 140 and lost it to gene hatcher.he then went on to fight at 147 before retiring
