i took the short cut and double listed them btw. it is a bit gay tho. i was talking geography not sectarianism. and yes i understand if its all ireland then they are irish. i get that. sometimes i think its a shame northern ireland cant just be its own country and not part of either.

how can you possibly come to that conclusion when there are no unionist world champs, they cant fight for **** plus nearly all the gyms in the north are nationalist run

I didn't say there was a nationality called Northern Irish and I agree with what you are saying but the purpose of the thread I was refering to, (Lukevader's World Champions thread), is to list world champions from Britain and Ireland. Unless he knows each individual boxers preference it is easier to list fighters from the 6 counties as Northern Irish, just like Boxrec do : http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Category:Northern_Irish_World_Champions

Are you sure about that? I'm talking about geographically, see my reply to Fra's post, this is how Boxrec list them. I don't want to get into the whole Unionist and Nationalist debate. If I was listing Irish world champs I would use the heading "Irish", and then break this down into fighters from the Republic and the North. I suppose a better way to say it is "fighters from Northern Ireland" and not "Northern Irish fighters" if that makes any sense.

When i was in rehab in london i met a guy from northern ireland who converted to islam to avoid alcohol.

Sure enough, he relapsed, caused a fight and got arrested in belfast.

On his way into prison they asked him ''ORANGE OR GREEN''.

He looked at the guard, gave him a big friendly smile and said ''Salaam Alaikum brother! I am neither, for i am a Muslim.''

''Well, wa alaikum salaam'', said the guard. ''pleased to have you here sir.''

''NOW ARE YUUUU A GREEN MUSLIM OR A ORANGE MUSLIMMMMM!!!!!!!!''

 I haven't read the book might pick it up is it a good read? I always thought McCullough just used the whole Republic thing to launch his career in the US.

****ish thing to say especially going on to use the Irish fans again to launch his career.
