Well personally I slightly favour peak Robinson over Hagler but I would certainly not favour the well past it version of Basillio 2. Even though he rolled back the years in that one he was still nowhere near his best.

Theres no doubt in my mind that he is the P4P greatest, visually most impressive and H2H the most formidable. First things first, would Robbo v Hagler v RJJ be over 12 or 15 rounds? As we know, SRR was a 15 round fighter, MMH 15 or 12 & RJJ only proven over 12. Also assuming pre 1953 Robbo. Assuming 15, SRR v MMH, I give a slight, very slight edge to MMH, MMH was virtually unbeatable during his reign - SRR not quite so unbeatable. SRR/MMH v RJJ? MMH too much of a beast for RJJ & SRR better than RJJ, period. All imo of course!

Mickey Duff, whom I consider a very shrewd judge of fighters, believes Hagler beats Ray ,in fact he thinks Hagler is the no 1 at 160bs. Just a thought.

Too much gets made of Hopkins "greenness" to downplay Jones' win. First of all Jones was pretty green as well. Secondly if you watch Hopkins' fights going up to the Jones fight he looks great. He still fights very well technically and is much more aggressive and active, as he grew he became more clever, but the technique was always there. I would actually say this "green" Hopkins had a style that was better suited for fighting Jones than the one he would adopt later.
