If Paulie M had even half as much power as he has skills , he could have been a p4p contender , same goes for Sergio Mora. Power isn't everything , but to Be on top you need power, skills and many other attributes. Power is one of the most important factors though, maybe not knockout power, but at least enough power to keep your opponents honest. Thread starter is just a moron attempting to prove he knows more than most here.

I used to think like this but my game has come on a long way since I realised how much you get tagged in sparring if you don't use your speed and timing. I have to admit though that I love watching really heavy handed guys (paticularly against fast guys with crap chins) not just because I love knock outs but because you never know what is going to happen.

If I have to choose between a fighter who is exclusively pure power (meaning limited skills) and a fighter with pure skills (meaning no power), I would pick pure power.

It is like watching Malignaggi or Mijares compared to Darchinyan. It is frustrating watching someone hit the soft spot (like chin) mulitiple times and having no effect at all. It is like an amateur fight, winning by points.

The best is actually having both attributes.

the ones who think power is everything are the noobs, but the ones who think power is nothing are the ones who will never get it.

Power isnt everything but alot of times it changes a fight in the blink on an eye and then all the skills in the world dont mean **** when you're sleeping on the canvas.

Fighters that have a combination of skills, talent, and power are usually the biggest draws. But power is always potential for fan friendly fights. Alot of casual fans don't comprehend or appreciate the sweet science as some do.

no thats not it, you know you're apart of that category who want nothing more than brutal knockouts, i.e. the ignorant fan section that can only appreciate one menial aspect of the sweet science, hence why you got so defensive and resorted to insults. way to shoot yourself in the foot on that one pal.

Adamek is danm near featherfisted in heavyweight.
but hes climbing the heavyweight charts at the moment.

KNOCKOUT OR JUST POWER HELPS OUT ALOT AND IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.

but knockout power is not neccicarilly needed.

just like athleticism its very important (not counting the heavyweight division neccicarily lol)
It is very important. but not neccicarily needed.
a 140 lb overmuscled flat footed juan urango who prolly got the lowest level of flexibility. probably runs a 5 second 40 yard dash. Hes a 2 time champion. And 140 got probably got some of the the most athletic people in boxing.
