Nah, he lost to that bum Barrera and even let his head get slammed into a turnbuckle. Only a major bust gets clowned with a pro wrestling move in a boxing match! They say some of those pro wrestling moves aren't even real!

I thought Syd Vanderpool would expose Lacy by boxing him and go on to be a good champion... Then he tried to trade with Lacy... Then he got his ass knocked out... After that loss he didn't seem to have the will to fight back to the top (I don't think his heart was in it when he fought Berrio)...

That being said, I am a little biased...

Syd trained me a little when I first got into boxing. He is a real good guy; too bad he never got to hold a major belt.

I started watching boxing because of Wlad, I watched him destroy everyone, until he met Sanders. Granted he has become a dominant champion, but I still wonder what would happen if he was a bit more prepared for Sanders and kept winning his way to a fight with Lewis.

Then it would have been Lewis who knocked him out, and he still would have needed to rebuild himself.

The two stoppage losses are actually the best thing that's ever happened to Wlad in a way. He wouldn't have become the hyper-efficient machine he is today without them.

Joachim Alcine. I really believed he could become something great at 154, but he was just a religious freak who didn't want to fight on fridays and didn't watch his opponents previous fights because he thinks'' he was chosen by God''.:-(

He's a cautionary tale for Andre Ward.

Nah, Ward has already surpassed the one-hit-wonder Alcine, who does kind of fit the spirit of this thread.

Ward's already a "big-time beltholder", as was Hamed (even though I dislike him) and to an extent Mijares.

Really, if you secure a world title and defend it more than once you can no longer be called a "major bust".

No version of Wlad has a snowball's chance in hell against Lewis. Chin's too weak. Size is too equal. Repertoire's too small. For the first time in his career, his own jab would be coming back at him, with even more zip on it.

    Vitali's a different case, though.

Yes, I suppose that's the inevitability of it.

Would it not be the same situation for Lewis? I am not sure you have seen Wlad's repertoire.

I loved watching Olajide figth!!! I really thoght he would get a belt and dominate for a long time. He reminded me of andre ward with power. Cant believe he hurt his leg ina fight wit a colombian and could never recover.

Not that he turned out to be a flop but Danny Williams. He had a great start to his career and I was convinced he would suceed after Lewis.

I really thought Anthony Mundine was going to make a splash after dismantling Danny Green back in 2006, but even though he is undefeated in five years he has mostly fought bums.

He may have been a little to green for Otke, but definitely the belt was his for the taking against Kessler. Shouldn't have clowned around and just fought.

I'm glad The Ring chucked him off the middleweight top 10 listings - it was starting to go to his head he was somehow in the same league to challenge Mayweather or Cotto at junior middleweight.

    Some decent wins:
    Geale
    Green
    Echols
    Soliman

    Floyd, hands down.

Nothing's worse than being scared with a guy half your size.
