is it true that as early as round 2 in fight 2 tyson had a large gash on his face from a headbutt? that's a bit unusual. nevertheless, holyfield won both fights fair and square. he was the better boxer.
You are watching a different fight. I did not see excessive holding in it. Holyfield simply beat Tyson in his own game.
You suggest as if Tyson was a better boxer pre-prison. I don't think it would have mattered against Holyfield. Tyson was never strategically consistent enough to beat Holyfield. When he did have a 12 round fight, Tyson got sloppy (Tucker, Smith). It's just those guys were not ATGs like Holyfield to outpoint Tyson. Against Tucker Tyson threw a lot of wild, predictable haymakers.
No he didn't. Holyfield beat Tyson in inside fighting. Holyfield did do a lot of holding and smothering to keep it an inside fight and whoop Tyson. Despite popular belief, Tyson is a terrible inside fighter because he chooses to do nothing (when he did choose to do some body work in round 5 - he showed potential). Tyson's game is mid-range attacks.
Xpert post m8 :thumbsup you know a ****-ton about Tyson. Holyfeild Dominated Tyson on teh inside by grappling And wrestling him every round. :deal Tyson was ALWAYS a TERRIBLE insider-fighter like you said And Holyfeild proofed it. :thumbsup AND those gay Tyson-fannys say he was ONLY headhunting - BUT you right m8, he did a ****-ton of body-work in round 5 And Evan took it like teh WARRIOR he is. :deal
Good post, one of the few times I agree with you. TBH, I'm a fan of Holyfield & Tyson but have been a Tyson fan much longer. I recently became a Holy fan like a few days ago. I would love to know why you hate Tyson. Oh well, he'll definitely **** you until you love him:deal.
Maybe not fair but Tyson had some nerve complaining about headbutts when he, himself was guilty of dirty tactics. Holyfield bullied the intimidator and wasn't scared. People forget that Foreman hit Holyfield flush too. Holy's willpower to take shots and fight on is something I love from him. I love Tyson too but Holyfield was just the better fighter in the first fight. The second fight would've been interesting had it been longer but whatever, I love both fighters.
Dont bother trying to isult foreman hook techks, he just ignores it because hes scared of confrontation :bbb we just have to start a thread saying "THE ROPE-A-DOPE WAS FOREMAN's PLAN atsch OR AXEL SCHULTZ BEAT FOREMAN 7 WAYS FROM SUNDAY Then he'l come running in defence of his hero
Tyson did a hell of a lot of holding in the fight too. From the 2nd round on, at least half of the clinching and holding was Tyson's doing.
This is from the first fight. Look at replay at 8:18 ....... If anything, Tyson's the one leading with his head. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5kdVjNvGHk&feature=related[/ame] At 8:13 you can hear Tyson's corner telling him the cut is just a small one, which was actually true. Tyson was making a huge deal out of the cut and the butts and wanting out even in that first fight. He pulled himself together and went out on his shield though, to be fair, and was gracious in defeat.
Who was the *****??? Tyson flat out looked for a way out in the second fight and only looked full of fight when he was seperated by about 50 security guards from Hoyfield after he'd been DQ'd. Holyfield by contrast with half his ****ing ear bitten off told the ref and his corner he still wanted to fight on and knock Tyson out (again). Tyson debased himself and the sport that night and only the most myopic, sack swinging fanboy would/could defend him for it.
True. :good I think Azzer85 is this guy at 0:54 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_poRu1e9I0[/ame]
Tyson interview at 2:49 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDm8IQtUpr0&feature=related[/ame] "Why did you do that though Mike ?" "Look at me ! look at me ! look at me ! I gotta go home to my kids ! My kids are gonna be scared of me, look at me, man." :rofl
Yes he did. Tyson did his share of holding too in that fighting. There is a good reason why Tyson snapped in the 2nd fight - he was convinced he can not win against Holyfield in any way, boxing or brawl.
