Hassan N'Dam N'jikam vs. Avtandil Khurtsidze RBR

I liked Khurtsidze's dance

 

I haven't seen much of Lemiuex tbh but I'd definately fancy Pirog or Golovkin against him - or Macklin or Jacobs or a few others for that matter.

 

I can easily see it 6 rounds all...infact I almost gave AK the second round which would have made it an even fight and I probably could have made the 11 round a draw (gave it to HNN). That right there would have given the win to AK. I can certainly see what you mean about the rounds that AK won seeming more clear...I would actually disagree with that by saying that there were a couple of rounds in the middle of the fight that were very easy to score for HNN. I have to agree about the arm punches bit...with talent like that you'd like to see him sit down on his punches and tighten things up a bit more...too many were flicking punches, lazy punches thrown from odd angles, or wide punches....his ability to flurry with a hard puncher like AK and land hard meaningful punches was very impressive....his ability to box off the back foot was also very impressive!

 

Let's put it this way:

Sylvester looked much better tonight than N'Dam N'Jikam in his own middleweight title fight...

BUT

despite the 9" height disadvantage, I actually think Khurtsidze would knock Oral out cold.

 

Macklin or Jacobs is a stretch...Golovkin I don't know much about but he looks like he fights in quick sand...Pirog I'd probably favour over him but that is off one fight. Anyways I look at it though he's definitely an elite fighter and top 6-7 in the division.

(Lemieux is way too green for this guy)

p.s. I find it kinda funny how when actual hardcore fight fans talk about these up and coming guys names like Felix Sturm and Sylvester never get mentioned....does anyone actaully think they could roll with this next generation of middle wieghts? For my part I don't ****ing think they's got a chance...

 

Yeah the division is definitely picking up, for a long time Abraham-Pavlik was about the only fight anyone wanted to see at the weight and without pointing fingers at anyone it just wouldn't happen, and Strum has never seemed interested in any more big fights than he absolutely has to make. I stand by that I'd have my money on Macklin or Golovkin (Jacobs might have been a bit of a rash statement,) against N'Jikam but whoever you'd back at least the fights are there to be made now.

 

I don't know about that, I'd back Khurtsidze to beat Oral but for all his pressure and toughness, awkwardness and pressure he isn't a particularly big hitter and the fact he marked up N'jikam is part why I think bigger hitters would have a good chance against him.

 

Yeah, but Sylvester isn't exactly Arthur Abraham himself and he had Oral looking mighty fragile.

Khurtsidze would have chopped down some timber with those big overhead axe swings of his...just IMO.

Ultimately, my point is that Oral is easier to look good against than Khurtsidze.

As a Hassan fan, I really would like to see him broaden his horizons and maybe pick up an American trainer to show him the ropes defensively (or rather, show him a defense that involves more than laying on the ropes or relying on his reflexes). :yep

Golovkin makes me nervous for N'Dam N'Jikam despite the disparity in speed. Golovkin's power and timing could spell doom.

As for Jacobs - he has a little more pop and better defense but Hassan's superior speed, agility and chin would see him through that one pretty comfortably (a clear UD in the USA, and a shutout in France...or maybe even a late TKO).

N'Dam N'Jikam doesn't have an iron chin but we already knew that. He's been buzzed by lesser opposition before - but he always rebounds fairly well. Khurtsidze was the first person to really lay it on him for so long after buzzing him. He passed that test - sticking with it and not losing his cool under duress - admirably.

 

Doesn't sound particularly promising that showing. He's always had defensive flaws. Sounds like they were really shown up tonight.

 

Now I'm 100% confident that Golovkin would KO him.

 

I haven't seen tonight's fight with Oral so cant really comment. I'm not head of the Sylvester fan-club in any case and I'm not going to argue that Sylvester would beat N'Jikam from what I've seen of them.

N'jikam is still young and improving and I agree with you that he should consider a new trainer because he does look to have the talent to do more than he done tonight. And he should do it soon if he's going to be fighting Golovkin for the WBA title. I'm sure that would be a very watchable fight but I'd definitely be looking for at least another one fight before getting in with him if I was Hassan.

It's fine skipping around like roy Jones against a lower class of fghter but Golovkin is an extremely accurate puncher and N'Jikam hasn't convinved me about his chin yet. His defense is pretty much non-existant.

 

the exact same thing can be said about golovkin, he can knock out a bunch of lower level guys and look like a sniper against them, but he's never faced anyone as fast, light footed, and tough as n'dam. two way street man, two way street.

 

That's true. I dunno, I just feel that Golovkin has the advantage in nearly every area except speed.
