Obviously he's not gonna stand like that in front of Maidana. Were you expecting him to circling around the heavybag jabbing?

 

Guy is a speed demon. Maidana won't catch him and get humiliated. Doesn't matter though, Khan is one of those boxers who will get heat throughout his whole career.

Khan looking very fast and powerful, but I think we can all agree there are still huge question marks surrounding his chin. Hitting a heavy bag is one thing, but bags don't hit back. Remember that.

 

bags don't hit back....boxers do........kotelnik and malignaggi tried to and didn't land much....even if they did both are light punchers. Alexander who ko'd eurango struggled past kotelnik...khan schooled him..... likewise malignaggi beat "come forward" diaz easily - diaz who in many ways similar to maidana....this malignaggi got outboxed by khan.

maidana was 50-50 with kotelnik...kotelnik got the decision......khan boxed kotelniks socks off and kotelnik didn't land a meaningful punch.

maidana also got floored a couple times by ortiz.... even though he showed good heart to comeback and made ortiz quit.

As long as khan fights clever doesn't do anything stupid or get over-excited ....he beats maidana all night long.

Things in maidana favour is that Khan needs improvement in footwork - he needs to learn footwork like mayweather.... so over-aggressive fighters get caught coming in...ala hatton - mayweather check hook. If khan improves his footwork then i'll put him up there with the elite guys like bradley, marquez (at lightweight), pacman, mayweather (at 147)

The other thing in maidans favour is that khan can be damaged to the body because of his high guard...protecting his fragile chin. Maidana has knocked out his previous two opponents with big booming body shots.

Either khan will get wind taken out of him by the body attack and fade late on - (khan was also exhausted agauinst kotelnik by round 12) or otherwise i see khan outboxing maidana for 12. Khan better be in the best shape of his life for this one, because i see it as his toughest test.

if he does beat him, the glass jaw brigade should start respecting him.
