I was told that on an episode of "Pawn Shop" or whatever that show is called they had a belt on there for sale... either an IBF or a WBA championship.
(I have been trying to find that episode, cause I wondered the same thing bro...)

i think the fighter should make the belt not the other way around. If you look at When Naz won the wbo title in the mid 1990s it was an almost worthless belt at that time. But he mede it worth something by the quality of fighters he was defeding it against. To me it dosent really matter which of the recognised belts a fighter owns, as long as hes defending it against a high class of fighter the belt is worth a lot. If hes not defending it aginst high class fighters its not worth much then

:patsch i only read the title of the thread my mistake, id say the belts are worth a few bob though.I think they have to be specially made and although you could probably buy replicas the genuine world championship belt would be worth quite a lot. Especially if it was won by a famous fighter

I can hardly wait for the new Platinum and Topaz belts. With any luck by the end of this century their will be a belt for every precious mineral.

I nearly bought a replica WBC belt on ebay for £1800 a couple of years ago. Just could not bring myself to do it because it was too much cash.

The Lonsdale belt has realy gold on it. You can tell from looking at them, and the way they're handed out like sweets, the world title belts don't.

I tried googling it and to no avail. I was very surprised that the TS question was posted on the internet.
