Who should Lucian Bute fight in his next match?

    Ward, Froch, Abraham, Kessler, Dirrell, Taylor are not options. The loser of the Green/Johnson fight is an option, but not any better than Bute's previous opponents. Pascal is fighting Hopkins then a rematch with Chad Dawson. So, Dawson and Pascal are not options until the end of 2011 or beginning of 2012. Stieglitz has turned down a fight with Bute twice and honestly isn't a step up in opposition anyway. I see Pavlik fighting Martinez or Williams before stepping up in weight to fight Bute. However, Pavlik is the best option I can come up with assuming Bute does not want to step up in weight.

    While impressed with his skills against the Bika's and Andrade's of the world, many people are down on Bute because his opposition has been subpar. Rather than hate, how about Bute naysayers explain who you think would be the best choice as an opponent for Bute while waiting for the Super Six to finish? If that is too difficult to do given the weak possibilities, how about lay out a road map for him to fight someone difficult in the near future that make sense with giving him the least amount of flack.

    Bute could have fought Hopkins, Dawson and/or Pascal but chose not to.

    It's his fault he's now in the position where he cannot get a good fight.

    Pavlik would me my choice, to answer your question, but I don't think Pavlik will want it.

    I think Pavlik is a good choice. But unfortunately if this fight happen it will be the end of Pavlik's career.

    If Dawson would have won, he would be fighting him. Why would he fight Hopkins? No point for him to fight an old man now.

    Oh, so now you think Williams is dead as a fighter if he loses to a fellow top 10 P4Per? Your mentality is why top fighters seldom lock horns. And I seriously doubt either of those two will be fighting at 168 with any effectiveness in the next 2 years.

    And I am a Lucian Bute hater. It is not because of his opponents' quality that I hate him, but because of the undeserving praise by fans like you that I hate him.

    I don't care who he fights. Re-match Brinkley for all I care, people will worship him anyway.

    Most people rank him ahead of Mikkel Kessler based on "talent" that they see. No way he has accomplished enough to currently be ranked ahead of Kessler. I'm not so sure I'd rank him ahead of Froch or Abraham to be honest.

    People do worship him, especially considering his untested nature. Not everybody, but a lot. I know the difference.
