He is fighting the guy at 150 lb's, I think it's the wrong fight for Pac, Margo never looked better from what I've seen, which isn't surprising considering what a win could do for him, course he's gonna train like ****. I don't think Pac will hurt him, specially when Margo is constantly chasing him around the ring throwing punches.
Great insight. It's like when a kid gets abandoned by their parents at a young age and starts to act out, always looking for trouble, when all they want is a little attention. Too bad for those kids, those parents aren't just "vacationing". :yep
Maximum respect to Tony. I'd be wondering what kind of effect this will have on Manny, though. Something tells me he'd be extremely disappointed with what happened, and want to rectify it more than anything in the world.
I suspect I will be shaking my head at his most vocal detractors who want to jump on his bandwagon cause he is a winner again.
Simple, because taking the 8mill would have required him to remain a top rank fighter for at least several more fights. Mayweather had his eyes on a mega fight, but Bob Arum basically said that he was dreaming and that it wasn't realistic. So Mayweather fought Baldmoir instead for the lineal WW title, and a 8Million dollar purse. He then went on to fight DLH in a fight that broke PPV records, live gate records, and was the richest fight in boxing history.
Why didn't he say that then instead of saying he was not a big enough name or whatever? He went on to fight De La Hoya, then retired and ignored Cotto and Margarito. I'm always worried when a fan mentions ppv records, gate receipts and other monetary or materialistic terms when describing a fight. For me fans shouldn't be bothered about it, unless it affects ticket prices in some way.
He won't beat him, he cheated in a lot of fights it's obvious. Margarito isn't a hard puncher, watching the Shane Mosley fight is all the proof one needs to not bet on Margarito. Pacquiao isn't training hard I believe, he would lose if he was in there with a higher quality opponent, but Margarito is done and they're trying to play it like he's not. Look at Margarito's face as he's walking in during the Mosley fight he looks like he's thinking to himself he's got no chance in hell without his concrete. If he loses to Margarito I would honestly question if Pacquiao is snorting coke.
its all bull****, they are laying bait out there, if Margarito is stupid enough to think Pac isnt ready that is on him, they had better continue training for the best possible version of Manny Pacquiao... I dont think whats being said is true, if it is though and they are throwing it out there then he has an excuse even if its not true even if Manny is 100% they will have this as an excuse, I think whats really happening is Roach sees what kind of condition Margarito is in... and he is likely thinking to himself he may have bit off more than he can chew.
I would say I hope Pacquiao goes back to 140 where he belongs and cleans out the division. He doesn't need to pick up any more catchweight paper titles to impress me or any other boxing fans. Hell, I'm still hoping to see Pacquiao-Marquez III at 135 but that's probably wishful thinking on my part.
