As a huge Vargas fan I have to say no not even substance to his career. always seen as a tough stepping stone to the elite. If he gets in it really is opening a can of worms imo.
He could have been but no i think he was moved along way to quickly, but that shows he wasnt afraid to fight anyone.\hre had hof potential
Yes he totally outclassed Winky didnt he? that performance alone means straight into hall of fame for me.
As long as he has the "Youngest" champion record attached to his name, It's almost a lock he will eventually get in. In hindsight, The kid did alot in a few years. (He had balls of steel & showed more heart than most show in a 20 year career)
His general demeanour and behaviour at times was enough I feel to turn a lot of people away but anyone who wanted to fight Trinidad, de la Hoya and Mosley deserves my respect. Should he go in the hall of fame? I'll side with no, but thats taking nothing away from the wins over Winky and Quartey.
good question and i say yes.. most people are looking at the wins column he has some wins he has had a few wars, and fought some damn good watchable fights and he was also well known and sold some tickets aswell. the guy will be in and im absolutely fine with that..
outclass? no way it was really close i had Vargas winning but its been a long time since i saw the fight. Winky hadn't even adopted his shell style in that fight yet.
Hmm... does anyone know whether Vargas is making a comeback? I read his twitter every day and he is basically running 5 miles a day. Thats not a regular amount of cardio for anybody... i don't think he is just trying to lose weight
You might say so, But it will get him in. That & his legion of fanatics that will demand it. (Dude just got a ****en star in Vegas)
