I was super pissed off when he couldn't land anything on Dirrell, I really wanted him to catch that running little ****. After that fight I thought I lost all interest in Froch. This, however, was not the case and I couldn't help myself and rooted for him against Kessler. True, his skills suck but his charisma and no bull**** style more than make up for it.
I used to like froch...he is arrogant, but thats not why i dont like him..its because he has a persona that its fake..a la mayweather
Thats about the only problem I had with Froch, although I have started to warm to him, only Tyson Fury is comparable to Froch regarding one liners.
I'm really surprised that considering the state of boxing these days, people can't respect a fighter who puts it all on the line in every fight. He will also fight the best guys available and never ducks anyone. For me he is doing the sport of boxing proud.
He should tighten up defence, especially in next fight with big puncher. Sounds like he doesn't plan to as he believes low hands allow him to throw power shots from awkward angles that the opponent wont see/defend..... OK... Just maybe against Abraham it could work.... Question for you guys that have seen a lot of both fighters, would you say that Froch has faster hands/reactions than Abraham?? Better stay up on his toes in my opinion. Froch being Froch and liking a tear up he will stand his ground and start swinging at some stage.... I think Froch could win on his skills, if he goes in to the trenches it's a shootout and potentially a massive career setback. Really looking forward to this fight, hope the officiating/judging is fair. Cheers. Duncanne.
He's not even as arrogant as people like to picture him to be. He talks a lot of sense, and he's just confident. Boxers are supposed to be. As arrogant as Mayweather? He doesn't go on about living a lavish lifestyle out the ring all the time. The only reason people say he's arrogant is because he believes - and has to believe - that he can beat anyone in the world at 168. Are you expecting him to come out and say 'I could beat most of the fighters in my division, but I'd probably lose to Andre Ward to be honest, and Abraham will probably knock me out, and Dirrell would beat me in a rematch.'?
I didn't like Froch at first. Poor defence and technique combined with a big mouth turned me off him. But he has won me over with his recent performances. I though Kessler would take him apart but he showed better boxing skills than I expected and showed real heart and desire. I will be rooting for him for the first time ever when he goes up against AA.
As a Taylor fan, I've essentially tried to "hate" Froch, but the more time goes by, the more I really respect the dude. People say he's not ultra talented and to be honest he's not, but he's a fighter and he fights with heart. He has legitimate/genuine confidence and I really have grown into a closet Froch fan, I hope he ****s AA up.
Froch is the man, most yanks don't get the dry quint-essential british sense of humor he has and as stated by a previous poster it's not like he's ever going to admit to being inferior to another boxer is it? He's got some quality wins on his record and took Kessler deeper than he's ever been. He's a credit to the sport.
Please list all these bums that Calzaghe fought all his career, as a fighter like Veit & arguably Mkertchyan are more accomplished SMWs than Dirrell. Froch is a fighter with a great attitude, having his first defence away to Taylor, defending away to Kessler and fighting AA in neutral territory. Froch is a fighter who I like but always feel he could do more. He cant cut off the ring, cant seem to fight at a pace, cant fight too well on the inside, dosent throw combinations, and seems limited, but I still like him and wish him well. I think he is going to beat Abraham and wouldnt be shocked if he KOs AA
