What I dont get is guys like Jack Dempsey at 16 and Tyson at 72. Without the heavyweight bias, pretend Dempsey was just another FW fighter achieving what he did...which isnt much really, would he even be top 50?

I ask If these 2, Kingpetch & Medel, were HOFamer as you claimed??? Tarver beat RJJ, Torrecampo beat Pac, Raheem beat EM but those guys are no way HOFamer.

Is not easy to put great boxers in a list and give them rankins without being subjective. Duran deserves anything higher than top 8, so its all good

This list was from 2002, before GBP snatched it up. I would love to see how it looks now.

I have Duran at #3. He was an absolute monster who had it all. Having Tiger above Emile Griffith is a joke. If you saw Griffith dismantle Dick Tiger in their fight you would understand. Griffith, constantly fighting on his toes, took Tiger apart that nght. Griffith should be top 20.
Hearns as low as in the 60's is definitely wrong. Top 30 more like it. Nice to see Basillio ranked top 50. No defense but he never stopped coming. As tough as they come. A real warrior. Jones that low is criminal.

Glad they put salvador sanchez in there. Great fighter. Shame he had to die so young. Would have loved to have seen him and arguello go at it. Wot a thing of beauty that would have been. All in all I think its a pretty descent list.

Then Pac should be at #3 coz Pac's already greater than duran!!

Pac needs to win vs floyd, martinez, williams and by doing so pick up a middleweight title, destroy some of the 140 talents and then retire. Then i would take him over Duran.

I myself don't have these so-called all time great lists. Why? Because there are two schools of thought running in my mind that have me convinced doing these won't amount to much. One is that old-timers pretty much tend to exaggerate their own eras, while those from the younger set experience the dominance of modern day fighters and the lack of similar first- or second-hand experiences with classic fighters tend to make them biased towards their own modern era.
