Why would Pac have to claim a MW title to be greater than Duran? We never asked Duran to claim the HW or LHW title. Pac's win over Cotto at WW is every bit as good as Duran's win over Barkley at MW, that was Pac's 9th weight division whereas MW was Duran's 5th.

The only edge Duran has is his win over SRL where he quit in the rematch anyways. IMO Pac has been more consistent, has a better body of work but Duran has that 1 big win. If Pac beats either Floyd or PW/Martinez winner, Id have no doubt he ranks above Duran.

If Duran is top 5, SRL must be at least top 4.

You do know Duran started his career as a Bantamweight...so that would make his MW title win his 9th division as well.

Wow. Yes, Chavez is overrated, Hearns really does seem a bit low, and I am a bit amazed at the defense of Fighting Harada in an all time sense ranking over Pac (obviously the list was composed before Pac's meteoric rise, but in the mind of the subsequent posters).

What is lacking from Harada's resume is number of fights (55-7, 22 kos), domination of multiple weight classes (started his career at 110, finished at about 124, and never had the feather title). Also, his fighting technique is fast and furious and overwhelming but it honestly looks like the more amatuerish version of Pac we had five years ago without the unconventional southpaw stance that makes him so successful. A few exceptional victories cannot erase the consistency of Pac knocking out or stopping guys who have never been knocked out, stopped, or even really tasted the canvas before and who consistently perform at a high skill level. At 122 or 126 do you honestly believe Harada would defeat Pac? He is fast and relentless and evidences great punch resistance, but his combinations lack the power, precision, and tightness of Pac's best. Having said that obviously he was a great fighter, I just can't in good conscience rank him above someone who has been as consistent as Pac, whose record of 51-3, 38 kos has been against a very high level of competition, and whose resume is probably the only guy out there who is more deadly dangerous than his KO percentage indicates.

Oh yeah, and Duran's amazing longevity and stylistic adaptations into old age definitely make him crack the top 5 or ten in my opinion, despite a few bad performances.

    Robinson
    Ali
    Pep
    Armstrong
    Duran
    R. Leonard
