I met jake lamotta last night

Hello Reznick - wished I'd asked him about that era too really - did tell him Jack Dempsey was one of my favourites and he kind of scrunched up his face and went "Wellllll :think - he was a great fighter but he fought in a weak era???:nono He had all the talent in the world though...but there weren't the guys around to give him a real fight, when he was champ." Kind of like he was umming and arring about him a bit - that surprised me actually - but he did say something along the lines of - there's good and bad in every era - the good fighters from every era would've been good fighters whenever they fought and whoever they fought

ps check out this - see the pic of Jake being interviewed (on page 2 of the article - well that's me to the otherside of the interviewer - the guy was getting a little peeved at me I think coz I kept interjecting with my own (much more interesting) questions hahaha - I chatted to the interviewer for a bit that night aswell - he must've thought It'd make my day if he got me in the pic hahaha

I'm 5'7" pigbearman - i was seated aswell when pic was taken (as was Jake) - the interviewer was about 6'4" though

there was another fighter who attended - cruiserweight Orvil McKensie who won one of those prizefighter things they stage over here - he was a real nice guy he had his little son along with him - well cute when they had their picture taken with Jake

 

go to this and it's on page two of the article - I'm the one on the other side of the interviewer - everyone keeps telling me it looks like my face is growing out of the side of the interviwers face

cheers doug - think Jake was more impressed with my interview questions compared to the interviewer from the local rag
