Its a mutual understanding that inside the ring he is a phenom, its his outside of the ring shenanigans, that we seem to hear about more about these days that don't generate alot of fan fare..

I wouldn't use the word hate so easily... but I guess I dislike him because he could have been even better than he is now and reached a better potential..

I don't think too many boxing fans can hate his style TOO much. Maybe it gets boring, but the subtle uses of technique and defensive talent are something to be appreciated in my opinion.

I think the personality has a lot to do with it, but it goes hand in hand with the reasons he gives for avoiding fighters. Saying things like "we're not proving to see whose the best", or referring to Cotto/Margarito/Mosley when asked why he's not fighting Mosley after retirement-"..an-an-and-and they all beatin each other..but nobody beat Floyd Mayweather! (huge grin)". He suddenly set the standard that if a fighter "already" lost or "already" got knocked out that they aren't worth anything, and people start using his dumbass logic to downplay fighters.

Perhaps if he weren't so arrogant, I wouldn't mind or as blatantly see his cherrypicking so much, and perhaps if he didn't cherrypick so much, I wouldn't mind his mouth.
