Who can you think of that seemed to go downhill overnight ? Jimmy Young is always the first that comes to mind here. After beating Foreman, and running Norton extremely close in 1977,he loses twice to Ossie Ocasio the following year. Obviously he became de-motivated,but what a comedown ! John Conteh in between the two Saad Muhammad fights is another. Loads of them to pick. Comments ?

So throughout all of his career, he was only good for 2 years?

I understand that, its just the way he put it, "Foreman was good for 1973 and 1990-91"

    :good

Come to think of it, can you imagine if Foremand had fought Tyson and Holmes as well, maybe Bowe too and Shavers.

Imagine a resume that said Ali, Frazier, Norton, Shavers, Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe!!!!!!!!!!!

Rodrigo Valdez. Although he was likely equally as past prime as Carlos Monzon was when they fought; on the way down already and possessive of one last hurrah well before he met Hugo Corro.

I definitely wouldn't say he qualifies for this thread, though. His peak was about as long as the typical fighter's is, really, and he was a world class operator for nearly a decade.

    Donald Curry
Fernando Vargas(age 29 he was shot)
    Jermain Taylor to an extent

A few that come to mind. They had tough fights so maybe their downfalls weren't "alarmingly quick".
