So Bellator risked everything it has, the commision was willing to bend to them for what couldn't have been a large amount of money, all for a womens MMA fight? Sorry; it was very very bad judging. Incompetent, not corrupt.
If i were an officiator working for a company notorious for "terrible decisions", and i got offered a nice side slip for seeing things differently, then yes i would be tempted BTW - i was refering to the way the referee handled the Lombard fight, i had no interest in a cat fight. To hear that was also a victim of "extremely dubious officiating" .... :smoke
I think Jacare would opt to just keep that one standing and just out-point him. Palhares has pretty bad standup, and Jacare's improves with every fight. Plus, once it hits the ground, I think he would be able to survive any sub attempt thrown at him. Definitely a fight I would like to see.
You don't work for a company in your scenario, you work for a state. The ref and the judges work for the state, are placed by the state in each fight, and have Bellator has no control over what they do.
I would be pissed if it stayed standing. I think they are about equal in takedowns, Jacare the better classic grappler, but Toquinho has the skills to leglock anybody in the world, anybody. You are most likely right though, Jacare has better stand up (but Toquinho has a better chin), and Jacare would be positionally better on the ground with his takedowns, whereas Toquinho would need the sub, Jacare could point a decision on the ground.
