I'm starting to really like Audley Harrison

He was never a bad guy. I don't even know why people hated on him. Silly public.

 

Yeah im not sure why, i think its just coz he aint achived much in his pro career but i cant see him beating haye, but i dont dislike the bloke i will respect him either way. win or lose.

People hated on him because when he was 19-0 people were saying he would KO either Klitschko and he was the best HW on the planet.

I could probably dig up some thread here from 5 years ago proving that.

Saying a 19-0 34yo untested small HW is going to dominate the K bros is a good reason to draw haters.

Just look at the negative attention Haye gets for all his nuthuggers talking smack. Haye is a solid top 10 fighter, but he is **** compared to a Klitschko, and thus anyone who says otherwise is an abso****inglute moron.

 

Ive jumped off the Haye-train onto the Audley-Express, the **** about Hollywood and all that crap from Haye has pushed me over the edge.

you honestly think that alone is a good enough reason to get SO MUCH hate like he was getting? **** 5 years ago the Klitschkos werent even that Big and didnt have anywhere near as many nuthuggers as they have now!

So to say THATS the reason he gets so much hate is absurd

 

The dislike is more linked to the fact that after the investment in him and the lack of big fights boxing on the bbc died. Plus statements like i will win the British title in 5 fights dont help.

Brits like a trier even in a losing effort (see Big Frank) and he didnt show that. If he wins against Haye fair play to him, and i admired him coming back into Prizefighter but he has pretty much got the response from the public he has deserved up to now.

 

Well, 5 years ago on BoxingInsiderForums, people were saying the 19-0 Audley was going to beat the Klitschkos. Only me and Farmboxer were big Kbros fans, and we started calling him fraudley. It stuck, and imo his ability spoke for itself soon after his fights with Danny Williams, who Vitali wrecked, and Wlad would decapitate.

But the amount of hatred he has gotten from the British press and fans was epic. I dont think people overrating him is enough of a reason to warrant all that?

His arrogance and ego which was out of control (he admitted as much himself) and subsequent cancellation from the bbc followed by lacklustre display after lacklustre display had way more to do with people hating him.

Like you said yourself back then only you and farmboxer were big Kbros fans so the fact that many thought audley would beat them wouldn't have stirred the cage that much back then
