Valuev is a terrible terrible performance and a decent win on paper , he threw 12 punches a round and Holyfield , yes Holyfield put in a much more well rounded boxing performance than Haye :deal

Ruiz was shot to bits with no hand speed , and Hit Haye A LOT !!!!!! subsequently retired also !!!

Both wins should be noted as nothing more than average wins against weak opposition !!!!

 

sounds like a heavyweight version of floyd mayweather.....

just think, he may fight a 41-42 year old roy jones or maybe even a 45 year old hopkins next.... hopefully he fights the 39 year old vitali....not all 39 year olds will suck..and he knows that

Harrison won Prizefighter, which any top heavyweight would be expected to win. Imagine a top 5 heavy fighting in PF? They'd wipe the floor with the opposition. He was getting a good beating against Sprott before stopping him, although his injury gives him some credibility

Ruiz didn't fight smart against Haye. He should have roughed him up and fought dirty like he usually does, instead he (inexplicably) decided to box him :huh

Valuev- uninspiring performance. Haye did as little as possible to win the fight

Barrett- well past prime, but I suppose he was coming off a good win and has went on to beat Tua since then. Meh

 

Compared to other heavyweights (outside the Klitschkoes), Haye's resume isn't so bad. It's his volume of fights that is bad. He just doesn't fight very often...he's only had 3 fights since Mormeck back in freaking 2007.

That said I don't think Nico and Ruiz represent top-level heavy tests. Valuev was much more nimble against Haye than against Holyfied, but was still slow and terrible. Ruiz put on a brave show but surely he is well past his prime.

To be fair to Haye take a look at the top 25 rated heavies for the past 5 years. Look at the way people like Tua walk straight back into the top rankings. The problem is the division not Haye.

How often do the pensioners fight, well a lot make Haye look really active.

 

People peak at different times and ages. Many people have wrote on here that the G Johnson who was being beaten by S Ottke wasnt as good as the 40 year old version that C Dawson struggled to beat.
What I would mention are the other facts you miss.
Fragomeni - undefeated and went on to become a world champ after Haye beat him
Bonin - had never been KOd as quickly
Mormeck - Then regarded as the best CW in the world and was Ring, WBC & WBA champ. So who would you have wanted Haye to challenge for the title?
Maccarinelli - The WBO champ, who was on his best run and favoured by some to beat Haye. Now Haye has ruined him
Barrett - Happend because many other highly rated HWs wouldnt face Haye, and it was a fight the fans were at the time happy for as Barrett was coming off a big win over T Fields.
Valuev - Wasnt past his peak, and had only lost one fight, and was WBA HW champ. What dont you get? The champ is the champ, whatever age he is, and Haye beat him.
Ruiz - Arguably one of Americas best HWs for years and was mandatory, but note Ruiz had only ever been stopped once by Tua yet Haye scored a stoppage
Harrison - Not a great fight, but makes great business sense, in an all British title fight

Remember how much has since been discovered about the Klitschkos fight contracts

So in 24 fights Haye won the WBC WBA WBO RING CW TITLES AND THE WBA HW TITLE. good going
