Has Fedor every spoken about his demeanor in the ring? It seems to me that it helps him destroy his opponents by not looking them in the eye during stare downs and being cold overall. He seems like a nice person in interviews so maybe he find it easier to mentally remove the other person from the fight? Or maybe it helps em stay calm and therefore think clearly throughout the fight? :think

Yea, he says staring at your opponent and all that, it tenses a fighter up and wastes energy. He comes basically with the "all business" mentality, and the staredown and theatrics arent important to him (or at least to the persona he's created ;) )

Fedor is one of the most frightening athletes I've ever seen. He's like a killer when they're murdering someone. Calm as hindu cows, I bet his blood pressure doesn't even go up or anything. ****ing terrifying individual.

just being a dick..but i actually have seen what i thought where nerves showing...the fact that he doesnt look at a fighter at all shows he is concerned about someone getting into his head...that tell me he has some nerves going on....

I don't think he knows what nerves are, personally.

He has said that he is calm by nature and that before a fight he and his friends tell jokes. The atmosphere is calm. He says he pushes all emotion out of his mind, and then God's will be done.

Check out 'the baddest man on the planet' segment done on him via youtube - he discusses this at length.

It comes from him viewing it as a sport and as a job. He knows he is a master of his craft, and there is nothing to be gained by acting all pumped up.

I don't think he cares how his opponent interprets it, he just does it because that is how he treats the task at hand.

He looks the exact same before Sambo matches.

That really sums up his attitude. It's just something he's gota do. It doesn't click the same with him as it does with everyone else. Fighters will get adrenalin rush and their thinking crumbles(they go into their primal brain fight/flight response). When his adrenalin kicks is, he stays level headed.

Fedor stated in the past that:

“Years ago we hardly had anything to eat, now I earn more money and I see every opponent as a man that tries to put me back to that poorer period, THAT MAN HAS TO BE ELIMINATED”…
