Why did Showtime prefer Glen Johnson to Bute for the "Super" "Six"?

Jesus West you're beyond ******ed. Can't wait till Ward lights up Bute like a Christmas tree, you Romanian tool.

Does anyone even know if Bute wanted in originally, or if he'd even be available for Green?

I just don't know how they feel now about entering after all the initial rounds. I know he wasn't happy when he was passed up initially. I enjoyed the article, though. Obviously Bute couldn't have fought in it this weekend.

If by wanted in originally you mean from the start of the super six.
Super six was a tournament build on invitation. They presented the fighters they had chosen with a proposal. They all accepted because it was very lucrative. Bute was never been presented a proposal as the maker of this tournament himself stated.

Bute is too busy fighting the guys that couldn't make the cut for the super six.

Did not read all the answer, but my answer his right now it's not good for Bute to go in this mess and I'm sure Showtime has more class than try to ask him after this mess. But now they are thinking ahead in trying to sign Bute 6M$ for his next 3 fights. So I'm guessing a hype for Bute and Ward and then a big bang between them.

That's what I was wondering about. Heard he was asked, heard he wasn't...don't know who's telling the truth. But for the life of me, I cannot see a situation where Bute would NOT have been asked to join. What I heard was Bute didn't want to commit to the scheuling of this.

I think in the beginnig before it started they, showtime, kept him out of it. He might have been asked recently but it is such a mess now.

(IBF champion) Lucien Bute was not invited (to participate). He's a great champion but this tournament works

Yeah, no point now. He's better off waiting till it ends and just fighting in the meantime.

They'll make more money with Bute out of the super 6. That way, they'll have all the s6 fights + 3 Bute fights to air. The s6 final will be a major event (likely) and Bute against the winner of the s6 will be even bigger. They get 2 MAJOR events this way and more fights to air.
