Speed is Maidana's Kryptonite. The first BIG combination Khan will land will drop Maidana. His reaction to taking shots is terrible. It's the shots you don't see which hurt you. Khan is faster than Ortiz. Khan's speed makes up for the extra power Ortiz has. He'll get back up, no doubt, but Khan is a great finisher. I see a lot of knockdown's.
And I wouldn't complain with that, cause even though Bradley is not a puncher, he has enough skill and pop combined to hurt Khan, he put Witter down, who seemingly has a good chin, he also put Peterson down if I recall. Who do you think is an easier fight for Khan, Alexander, or Bradley?
Kotelnik got a iron chin, and Paulie was hard to land a combo on, Maidana's defence and footwork is poor, i get the feeling Maidana is going to walk onto a Khan's right hand and he could be in trouble. We saw what happen's if you stand and let Khan land clean AKA Salita.
Im just watching the maidana and corley fight now, as ortiz and maidna is the only fight of his i have seen and it looks a preety bad performance so far. it will only take one punch as you have said as i have seen many khan fights where he has been severely dazed by light hitting super featherweights whether weight had something to do with this is debateble but one thing is certain his chin is below average.:thumbsup
I think he is a particularly good puncher. I think there were a lot of skeptics after the Gomez fight cause Gomez was able to nullify his power somewhat by putting him on his heels, however since Roach took over, he has not been committing to his punches as much, which has helped keep him safe, although I get the impression he is starting to do that again (Salita), that said, I have always thought the power was there for him when he decides to use it, which is why he could!! take Maidana out, force a stoppage, although some will say thats unlikely.
Depends i dont rate it high tbh because it is his speed which is used along with his weight that has been knocking out opponents. I'd say a 7/7.5
Khan is possibly the fastest fighter at 140 today, but even kotelnik was able to catch him from time to time. TBH i see a fight with a blend of khan kotelnik in the first half of the fight and then alot of pressure from khan ala malignaggi for a ref stoppage:thumbsup
But that is a punch he will have to throw correctly, otherwise he will leave himself open to left hooks. Khan has long arms, so rotating into a short punch like an uppercut, requires more body rotation from the hip, now if you dont rotate the hips sufficiently, or throw it from too far out, its the kinda punch which brings your chin up as you throw it, which is where the left hook can come into play.
