Eubank v Froch

This would be a tough fight for Eubank imo. Eubank would probably start out counter punching on the backfoot and have his way with Froch for the first 4/5 rounds, but when stamina became a factor, and Froch got into his rhythm, I envisage Froch coming on strong the way he did against Taylor, he would make Eubank fight at a pace that he was not comfortable with, which was always Eubank's achilles heel imo, I guess then it would come down to whether Eubank had pinched enough rounds early, and enough late rounds, in order to win the decision, which I suspect he would of done, although it would of been very competitive imo.

I dont see either man getting knocked out either to be honest. Make no mistake about it, Watson had the success he did with Eubank because he made Eubank fight at his pace, as did Calzaghe, and Froch has stamina to burn.

Could go either way really....

 

Meh, I guess I see Eubank winning this as long as he doesn't tire. He will certain outbox Froch for the first 4-6 rounds and would win most if not all of those rounds. If Froch could just keep throwing and making Eubank work he could claw back some of the later rounds but I see Eubank doing enough clean counterpunching on the backfoot to win this.

 

Eubank on points, Eubank could box very well and be very very awkard.

And unlike somebody like Dirrel.

Eubank had eqaul Power to Carl Froch, Chris Eubank could hit really hard.

Bad match up for Carl Froch.

Nobody stops Chris Eubank with one punch, you need a sustain attack to even off set him. Because he was that strong phsyically, and had a Chin made of Steel.

 

It'll go the distance then I'll go with Eubank by controversial decision. You know what you get with Carl but Eubank is so hard to predict. So often he just done enough to win (according to the judges anyway)

 

If it was a big big fight, for Eubank to get up for mentally.

Carl Froch is ****ed.

 

Y'see I give Froch a better chance against Benn than I do against Eubank. This would be a much cagier affair and Eubank would frustrate the hell out of Froch. Eubank never went mad with his work rate and always picked his punches well. And if Froch has a great chin then Eubank had an astonishingly good chin. Look at the shots he took off Thompson so late on his career!

I think Froch would have to be the aggressor and that would play into Eubank's hands.

In a messy, tense, hate filled encounter I'd go for Eubank 116-112.

 

Yeah, because he was so brilliant in all of his other big fights

 

Another noteworthy point.....

Eubank had an intuitive way of appearing to be winning rounds that he might not of been that effective in, simply because he was generally the one controlling, dictating the pace (early) in fights. Look at some of close scrapes (decisions) Eubank was involved in? yet majority of the time he was the one coming out on the right side of a controversial decision.

 

I thought Watson deserved to take the first one on his workrate. I recall being distinctly pissed off at the time. I still feel if he got the nod then Watson would be fine today.

Joe Calzaghe...........and 5 weeks noticed and coming down from LH, out of his prime he gave Joe Calzaghe one of his hardest fights ever, if was Joe Calzaghe hardest fight right up until Kessler.

Carl Thomspon...

Steve Collins....

Michael Watson.

In all these fights Win or Lose, Chris Eubank fought well.

The bottom line is, when Chris Euabnk won all of his biggest fights.

Those where the fights that cemented his legacy, by the time he come to Steve Collins he was already a legend.

What is Carl Froch going to do...?

Chris Eubank can box and move, and hit like a truck........and has a Chin made of steel.

Also he has faster hand speed than Carl Froch, he could win the fight on the inside or outside.

 

What would Froch do? Probably try to outwork Eubank. Let's face it, it was never, ever difficult to do so if you were a volume puncher.

Eubank didn't really perform well in the first Watson fight or the second Collins fight, and I love that when you mentioned "all" of Eubank biggest fights you came up with....two names. And Froch has already surpassed the Eubank/Watson II fight, which we both know Eubank was lucky to win.

Froch would have eubank on the back foot from the off, using his rangey,pawing jab. He would bring uppercuts underneath his guard. Eubank would not throw enough punches to steal rounds, and I think he would fall short on a lot of punches unless he threw in large combos in the pocket.froch steals a stoppage victory via volume of punches. Froch has too much of a reach and fitness advantage when both in their prime.
